It's baffling because No. 5's F-16s look OK. I wonder if the Americans just told them, "alright, no one touches the tail!" and got it done themselves...
Haha, be it the Americans or the PAF, at least it has brought about standardised cool squadron tail art across all the 4 F-16 squadrons. The arrows could still do a little better IMHO.
But tbh, the squadron tail insignias for the F-16s even before the Blk 52s were standardised and quite acceptable, just less aesthetically appealing.
At least they beat those coloured squadron tail insignias of Mirages, F-6s and F-7s. Remember the No.5 tail before the Blk 52s? Shudder!
The other thing is this use of the complete flag (and in colour). They should grayscale it so that fades into the tail, not stick out! Or perhaps just let the crescent and star float in the space (no flag), in grey.
In my opinion, given the denotation of the colours in the Flag and the moronic hyper-inflated religious identity of the modern Pakistani, it was very wise of them to bring in the white part as well. Like WC Middlecoat Shaheed said, it is the part that holds up the Flag against the pole and enables the green to fly high.
They do use somewhat grey scaled or low-visibility insignia now (like the No.9 bird above) instead of the super colourful ones like before (like the No.11 bird above) but I agree that it could be even more faded, like this guy's,
Our C-130s are a tad better.
Going with the Paris take off routine, eh? Perfect.
