PAEC aims to install 8,800MW of nuclear power capacity by 2030

Why dont they consider for Solar & Wind power. Pakistan have huge land with no population, can easily be done. Also it will be enviorment friendly.

i think solar energy requires a huge investment
while wind energy is being used in northern areas
small 1 mw or 2 mw wind mills
.
but i think so that wind mill might not be able produce a large amount of electricity

Installed cost per KW-hr produced is too high still, plus is subject to some variation due to weather and nightfall, unless even more money is spent to build large scale energy storage as well.

for short term they have offer from Iran as well
.
i dont understand y they have ignored all other options and are only stick to rental

I think you understand the meaning of the word "kickbacks" ? :D

The differences are short term and long term in terms of planning, siting, financing, time from conception to power production, etc. etc.

If we have a cohesive long term strategy, you are correct.

If we continue to lurch from crisis to crisis, then rentals and thermal power units have their place too. :)

No doubt rentals and thermals have their place but exuberant unit cost of generated electricity is point of concern due to use of fossil fuel and mainly huge kick backs.

That is why I said:

after following this so called energy crisis for a long time i have cncluded that all we are lacking is political will as the govt is busy in packeting as many dollars as it can..
RPPs were flawed deals n even after investing millions of dollars, they are giving us nothing..IPPs are running below capacity (according to an estimate by 50%)..thar deal is again in doll drums because of lack of will..n i was shocked to see the 6 mills (each of 1.5MW) installed installed with a german companys help getting rusted..
there are many solutions like changing the blades of current generators by aero-dynamis ones(very cheap solution), running IPPs at full capacity n most importantly minimizing the supply leakages(which are greatest in the wrold--35%)but no one is ready to do all this !!:hitwall:
we can all share new ideas here but unfortunately those in the higher echelons of power give a damn..:angry:

totally agreed to above 2
.
Gov. is not interested in actual solution and are not sinceer to it
just considering there owm own benifits
