Over 200 Indians, Including Staff, Still Inside Kabul Embassy: Sources

Afghans looking to catch a flight out of Kabul overran the airport today

New Delhi:
Over 200 Indians including Foreign Ministry staff and paramilitary soldiers tasked for their protection are yet to be evacuated from Afghanistan's capital Kabul, sources have told NDTV.
An Indian aircraft is parked at the chaotic Kabul airport, sources said, adding the big concern is how to safely bring the staff from the Indian mission compound to the airport. The Taliban has enforced a curfew in the city, they said.
The Indians stranded in Kabul include some 100 personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police or ITBP, tasked with protecting the Indian mission in Afghanistan.
The Afghan airspace has been closed to commercial flights after thousands of desperate people overran the tarmac this morning in the hope of getting out of the war-torn country, a day after the Taliban took control of the city. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has already left the country.

The Cabinet Secretary is meeting with Foreign Ministry officials to work out the evacuation plan, which is already in place, in detail, sources said.

Questions are being raised on why the Indian mission staff were not evacuated in the last three-four days when the situation on the ground was changing fast, sources have said. The missions of other nations in the war-torn country had been thinning out when Taliban started taking city after city before encircling Kabul and entering the city on Sunday.

Paramilitary soldiers ? Look like they are Afghan people. Indonesian Kabul Embassy is guarded by Indonesian Army special force, Kopassus, personnel.

Simple solution just recognize Taliban rule in Afghanistan, establish formal diplomatic relations then no need for evacuation
I guess, Taliban will not attack Embassy anyway. They can wait.
Though really bad, some agents will safely reach India.

. . .
Why are you in hurry to recognise taliban.
What do you think, should India recognise Taliban?
If not and Taliban becomes stable, India will lose Afghanistan, as it will have no diplomatic relations with it.

.
they must be interrogated properly as what they were doing in Afghanistan.

must be working on indian terrorists camps against Pakistan.
indians govt can go to any low may be they didnt remove them on purpose so that some poor indian killed their by RAW and they can blame Taliban to get some international attention which no one is giving them.

Dude you guys may be desperate to recognise taliban like last time but we are not.
What's point of having diplomatic relations just for the sake of it.

Not that simple!!! The question is will Taliban recognizes and acknowledges India recognizing Taliban rule and consider it a legitimate govt.

India tried to meet Taliban delegate two times in Doha, Qatar and Taliban declined to meet them, so its not that simplistic.

And since Taliban declined it, India twisted and skewed the news to escape the embarassment.
