Outgoing Pakistan Navy chief details procurement progress

. .
As per the official reply, 2x Type 21 frigates were already retired as of 2015. 4 left.

One was suppose to be refurbished for msa assuming it was one the the 2 or a third one is going as well

The need for spares as spares are getting. Low perhaps and de commissioning of the ships is only way

Looks like paf mirages and pn type 21 will keep going on for another decade ??

Retired PNS Badr (with 2x2 Harpoon)

Those 2x2 Harpoon launchers were fitted to PNS Alamgir, as can be seen in this pic.

PN has quietly retired PNS Babur (again with 2x2 Harpoon).

It is evident that PN is retiring Harpoon equipped Type 21's first (2 out of 3 retired) instead of those with LY-60N.

@Penguin @Bilal Khan (Quwa)

Can MRTP-33 accomodate 2x2 Harpoon instead of 1x4 Harpoon ?

Interesting, since initially PNS-Alamgir was equipped with 2X4-Hapoon Launchers.

Even Badr had 2 x 4 Launchers in some pictures:

May be the launchers are configurable depending on mission or 4 cell launcher is intended to be used elsewhere(unlikely)

Egyptian Forces are using unconventional approach of parking a Land Air defence vehicle on the surface of ship to provide defence to Ship (in their case the Amphibious Warefare Carrier)

I am quite a fan of the vertical Launch Turkish Vehicles for duel purpose usage
It would fix the problem in our ships which Lack Vertical Launc capabilities need minimal space

:smokin:

This could be our VERTICAL LAUNCH MOBILE NAVY SYSTEM ON BOARD SHIPS OF VALUE

Turkish Hisar-0 And Hisar-A need to be prioritized
These have multipe usage on ground / Sea

Put these vertical Launc vehicles on any ship we have in our inventory

What about this old news?
According to Chinese media reports, under naval modernization program, Pakistan is going to build six Type-022 Houbei stealth catamaran missile boats at Pakistan’s state-owned shipbuilder Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works (KSEW).

I think the Turkish mrtp 33 like karrar acquired fulfilled that requirement or pn went with karrar which can carry harpoons

Only 2 MRTP-33 were acquired. The main issue with them was that the PN wasn't allowed to integrate the Harpoon (U.S. end-user restrictions) onto them. Efforts are now underway to arm them with an AShM, possibly Turkish (e.g. Roketsan Temren or Atmaca if/when available). At IDEAS 2016, the PN said it wanted another 4-6 FAC, and Turkey's STM offered the FAC-55 (a very fast design). However, it seems the PN will keep backing the Azmat-series, so I would reckon we'll see more Azmat (albeit more capable than earlier versions).

8- Turkish FAC-55 would also be acceptable addition if we can't get the Chinese Houbie Ships
Does the intended job
