On The Night Of September 21, 1965.

The Last Days Of The War, Flying Officer Jamal A. Khan Finally Got To Use The Starfighter In The Manner For Which It Had Originally Been Designed, Scoring A Solid Sidewinder Hit On A Canberra At 33,000 Feet Over Fazilka. The Indian Navigator Was killed, But The Pilot, Flight Lt. M.M. Lowe, Bailed Out And Was Taken Prisoner.

English Canberra based on which American b-57 were designed had no ejection seat for navigator, if I am not mistaken so no chance for him to survive 😉

On 3rd September, 1965, F/O Abbas Mirza, flying this 104, serial number 56-877 made the high speed passes and forced the Indian Gnats to disengage from the dogfight with the sabres. Another F-104 joined the fight and forced the Indian Gnat to land at PAF airfield Pasrur.

This aircraft had a mid air collision with an IAF Mystere during the dogfight on 7th September, 1965.The pilot ejected safely but the Indian pilot did not survive.

During the Operational Sentinel, which lasted from December 2001 to end October 2002, PAF remained high alert and distributed its fighting elements across various Forward Operating Air Bases (FOBs) and air fields and conducted Combat Air Patrol (CAP) missions across Pakistan.
