He was the only child of his parents. Despite having many opportunities,
he chose to become a soldier. He loved wearing the khaki uniform.
He initially joined the Pakistan Army and later became part of the
Army Aviation No. 3 Squadron.

On July 3, 1975, he took off in his Cessna.

Cecil Beaton's visit to RIAF Kohat
Beaton arrived at Kohat on 25th Feb 1944 and got to photograph Indian pilots of No.2 Squadron during the visit and some of these have recently surfaced on the IWM website.
