Add to that article the fact that Binali Yildirim said some hours ago live on tv that Turkey would create a safe zone in Iraq in case of a mass refugee wave (could be around 1 million) from Mosul and, if i remember correctly, not a week ago there was some rumor of Turkish troops and tanks amassing at the border with Iraq, possibly for that 'Tigris shield' operation.

Based on Iraqi Defence Ministry, Al Quds Al Arabi news says Iraqi government has paid salary to 130 terrorists of PKK. The terroist organisation trains over 2500 Ezidis in Northern West of Iraq.

Little bit of both. Peshmerga are indeed the best what Iraq has, but far cry from serious military force by any higher standard.
And ISIS is no some rag-tag militia. Remember former high ranking officers of Sadams elite units & Inteligence were behind its creation. The ppl who run Sadams security apparatus - which was no joke.

From what i see from our operation in Syria. ISIS understands from military tactics. They don't try to go front war with Turkish military, tactical retreats against the superior firepower....occasionally some counter attacks.

On the other hand PYD can't employ any military tactics, they blindly fight against what's in front of them...thus suffering heavy casualties.
