Q: The Indian government's announcement is that there is a "mutual disengagement" of the troops between the two countries. You haven't mentioned the pullback of the Chinese troops. You mentioned only the pullback of the Indian troops. How do you explain?

A: The Chinese side has made it clear that the Indian border personnel and equipment that trespassed into China's territory have all been withdrawn to the Indian side of the border. The Chinese border troops continue with their patrols in the Dong Lang area. China will continue with its exercise of sovereign rights to protect territorial sovereignty in accordance with the stipulations of the border-related historical treaty.

This news is actually very interesting! :azn:

8/20 China Tibet AR

The Department of Transportation of Tibet Autonomous Region has announced today that it plans to start 30 new road construction projects in border areas this year. The construction of two of these new roads is already underway, and the rest are in various stages of surveying and designing. In addition, the construction of 5 extension projects to existing roads has also restarted.

Interesting....

Rule no. 1 China will not stop construction.

Rule no. 2 India cant stop China

These are natural laws that no one can stop just as laws of physics

Because that's not our territory but a disputed territory between China and Bhutan.

We were only there to preserve the status Quo and now that we have completed the tasks we have no business here, let Bhutan and China settle the dispute.

What happened to 120 crore people's army
What happened to jaitley who was saying it is not 63

Kyon phat gai bezat koum ki fouj phatoo nikli

Isn't India bound by a mutual defence treaty to defend Bhutan's territory?

Why did India abandon Bhutan?

In XiJinPing tenure?

Almost certainly, yes. Considering China's official spokesperson just said that the road is going to be completed.

China's official spokesperson - is he/she God? Doesn't every country have an Official spokesperson? Does that mean all spokespersons are Gods? Or is there a special status because he/she is from China?

Yes, we know what the Chinese wanted to achieve when they started this issue but they have walked back on that & We(on this forum) should talk about it IF that happens in the future.

Chinese diplomacy with it's neighboring countries is exactly how it deals with it's own citizens - "Here's some money, now shut up and do what we order you to & if not we will impoverish/imprison/kill you to achieve our objectives". Thankfully most of the rest of the civilized world do not run their countries this way.

"is he/she God?" above is used rhetorically, meaning NO ONE can predict the future.

A rhetorical question is a figure of speech in the form of a question that is asked to make a point rather than to elicit an answer.

India withdrew her troops completely, meaning that India is trusting China's "good will" not to build the road on disputed territory.

Because that worked out so well with CPEC and the South China Sea right? :P

No, we are not trusting good will but we are trusting what your foreign ministry conveyed to Indian govt.
Moreover our troops are stationed just few kilometers away from the disputed point. If any construction starts from chinese side there will be another standoff. And this time china might not get the face saving chance.

China's official spokesperson said that all construction activities, including the road at Donglang will be completed.

And this time china might not get the face saving chance.

How very kind of you to give us another chance to save face. :cheesy:

But India has vacated all those strategic positions in Donglang, now all those positions are filled by Chinese troops, as well as equipment and landmines soon. The old trick of sending unarmed Indian soldiers to hold hands and form a human chain has expired, next time you'll need to use military force.

Another chest beating self proclamations which no one believes except chinese cpc fools. I guess after seeing India standing up to chinese bullying soon many other nation in SCS will stand up for their land and sea. It will be great to see how china saves it face there. :woot:

Those countries, as well as India, and Bhutan, were all hoping and praying that India would not unilaterally withdraw from Donglang, and hand over Bhutan's territory to China without a fight.
