What's new

Only Indian troops withdrawing, Chinese troops continue to patrol area

Where is any statement from China stating that China will not construct a road ?
That road to nowhere is not that important that China need to build it in hostile weather from September onwards.
Unfortunately we will have to wait until next June before the weather will permit construction to start again, giving delusional and braggart Indians a lot of time to brag about victory where there is only shame and lost of faith with Bhutan.
China will now have a freer hand with Bhutan now that India has lost credibility.
A border resolution between China and Bhutan will confirm that India has lost its hold over Bhutan.
.

Given Chinese statement quality has been exposed numerous times now in this whole episode....its better to provide satellite pictures of the reality in the plateau.

You can see for yourself if Chinese road building teams ever return, this year or next or thereafter.

By getting the Indians to withdraw so ignominiously, the People's Republic of China has shown it is a global power that has found its place under the sun.

India, in the meanwhile has been shown to be a paper tiger.

To all Chinese posters on this forum:

The Chinese government DOES NOT give a **** about what you think. Why should Indian posters then give any importance to your views? :p:

third or may be fourth thread of similar title
too much sheikh chilli narrative.
so much desperation to show a lost game as won game.

India withdrew her troops completely, meaning that India is trusting China's "good will" not to build the road on disputed territory.
China did not stop (building a road) because of India trusting it's "good will", but Indian troops stopped & refused Chinese troops + bulldozers from building a road & continued that for 2+ months, & China decided then not to build a road and stop. Hence, Indian troops moved back because the road was not being built anymore.

As far as official statements from China and Indian governments on this, you need to understand how diplomatic statements work.

Because that worked out so well with CPEC and the South China Sea right? :P
  1. What happenned in CPEC
  2. @ South China Sea - So, (using the same logic) should Indians go back in history and show Chinese how dealing with British and the Japanese worked in the past for China & hence assume that's how future is going to work for China when they deal with British and Japanese? U serious? :o:. Answer- Of course not!

I understand some of the Chinese posters are not stupid, but their continuous pattern of attempts to:
  1. Initially, deny the facts
  2. Create their own facts
  3. Change the discussion
is hilarious and clear to any reasoned observer.

India claimed that China was building CPEC on Indian territory in Kashmir.

Did China stop building? :P Same with the South China Sea, China never stops building. The only way to stop it is to open fire.

Please stop to anger Indians over CPEC after their humiliated retreated from Donglang, and talk about CPEC this project go flawlessly event in Indian's claim territory.

Right.... India will go to war???? for a road being built in a geographical location held by the Chinese and/or Pakistanis for the last @70 years.

Arguments here are too silly..... to be worth a serious answer to.

Right, India won't go to war over CPEC even though it's being built in their territory (as they say).

They also won't go to war to uphold their mutual defence treaty with Bhutan, they just abandoned Bhutan by withdrawing all their troops from Donglang, basically giving the area to China.

Next argument is even more illogical &.... silly.

If this is the general quality of "Think tank analysts" this forum will go places...

Bingo. The truth is the area was supposedly belonged to Bhutan. But now the Doklam plateau is effectively Chinese. From what I understand roads already have been built these are being upgraded. Now that the Indians have left the upgradting will continue.

I've got to say I'm quite impressed by how Indians here are spinning an overwhelming loss into a victory.

They've even been claiming that it was actually China that withdrew from Donglang, not India.

My sources tell me new machines are moving in.
The bullbozer will move back once BRIC summit is over. We need modi to cooperate during the meeting and after his usefulness is over. There is nothing to worry and bullbozer will move in.

Is that even a thing?

Considering how India blockaded Nepal to interfere in its local politics, and how India defrauds Bhutan out of its hydel energy revenue, Chinese goodwill is as real as Indian pettiness.
