OBOR to become sign of Pakistan-China friendship: FM Qureshi

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says the One Belt and One Road Initiative will eventually become a sign of Pakistan-China friendship.

In a tweet, he said it will be an icon for bilateral friendship since both countries are charting new frontiers.

The Foreign Minister said the Great Wall of China is a symbol of China’s triumphs and it has stood the test of time like the friendship between Pakistan and China.

He shared a picture of his autograph that says, “long live Pakistan-China friendship, the only iron brothers in the world.”

早在1950年，当新成立的中华人民共和国在外交上受到孤立时，巴基斯坦就向周恩来抛出了橄榄枝。1951年5月21日，中巴两国正式建立外交关系。图为1951年8月，周恩来出席巴基斯坦驻华大使馆举行的招待会，与临时代办艾哈迈德·阿里（左三）交谈。

1954年，巴基斯坦加入了美国筹建的《东南亚集体防务条约》组织，旨在对付“共产党的侵略”，美巴结盟让中巴关系蒙上阴影。1955年万隆会议期间，周恩来与巴总理穆罕默德•阿里举行会谈，巴方表示加入西方集团并非针对中国。图为万隆会议期间，周恩来会见穆罕默德•阿里。

由于共同的努力，笼罩在两国上空的阴云很快消失了。1956年3月23日，巴基斯坦伊斯兰共和国正式成立，仍为英联邦成员国。国务院副总理贺龙以中国特使身份参加庆典并出席巴总理就职仪式。图为贺龙受到巴官方的欢迎。

1956年10月，巴总理苏拉瓦底应邀正式访华。这次访华，苏拉瓦底与周恩来举行了会谈，并受到毛泽东的接见。图为苏拉瓦底在首都机场欢迎仪式上致词。

1956年12月20至30日，国务院总理周恩来首访巴基斯坦。

巴基斯坦在1962年中印边界冲突中，明确支持中国的立场。同年，中巴宣布就边界问题进行谈判。1963年3月，两国外长在北京签订了《关于中国新疆和由巴基斯坦实际控制其防务的各个地区相接壤的边界的协议》。协议的签署是两国关系史上的一个里程碑。图为协议签署现场。

1964年2月，周恩来与陈毅访问巴基斯坦。在两国的联合公报中，中国接受了巴基斯坦的提法，表示希望“克什米尔争端能像印度和巴基斯坦向克什米尔人民保证的那样，按照克什米尔人民的愿望获得解决”。图为周恩来陈毅出席拉合尔市民欢迎会。

1965年3月2日至9日，巴基斯坦总统阿尤布·汗对中国进行国事访问。图为刘少奇、周恩来在首都机场欢迎阿尤布·汗总统。这年9月，第二次印巴战争爆发。根据巴方的要求，中国以最快的速度向巴提供了一批武器和军事装备。

1966年3月和4月，在文化大革命的风雨欲来之际，刘少奇和夫人王光美、陈毅和夫人张茜到巴基斯坦、阿富汗和缅甸三国访问。这是刘少奇生前最后一次出访。图为，1963年4月，巴基斯坦总统阿尤布·汗（前左一）和群众欢迎刘少奇一行。

1969年1月，美国力图从越南战争中脱身。同年8月，尼克松访问巴基斯坦，并请巴总统叶海亚·汗转告中国领导人，愿意同中国对话。此后，叶海亚·汗总统在中美领导人之间多次传递口信，起到了牵线人作用。图为1970年11月10日，叶海亚·汗应邀对中国进行国事访问。

1971年11月，第三次印巴战争爆发。中国公开表态坚决支持巴基斯坦维护国家统一的行动，还向巴基斯坦提供了2000万美元的追加贷款，命令驻西藏的部队进入紧急状态。图为1974年5月11日，巴基斯坦总理布托来华访问，叶剑英和国务院副总理邓小平到机场迎接。

1976年5月27日，毛泽东主席会见来访的巴基斯坦总理布托（右）。这是他最后一次会见外国客人。30日，中巴双方在北京发表了联合公报，并签订了两国政府科学技术合作协定和经济技术合作协定。

1979年末，苏联进军阿富汗，中国和巴基斯坦都受到威胁。在整个80年代，中国一直通过各种途径支持巴基斯坦，直至1989年苏联从阿富汗撤军。1989年2月，国务院总理李鹏和巴基斯坦总理贝·布托出席了中巴两国签订《关于相互鼓励和保护投资协定》的签字仪式。

1965年3月24日，巴基斯坦民间舞蹈团在北京演出，全国人大常委会副委员长彭真在观看演出后与演员们合影。

1973年3月，武汉杂技团对巴基斯坦进行访问演出，3月2日晚，巴基斯坦总统布托的夫人努斯拉特·布托观看了演出，并在演出结束后向演员们赠送花篮。

1979年10月3日，为庆祝中华人民共和国成立30周年，巴基斯坦拉瓦尔品第的民族出版社举办《中华人民共和国书刊展览》展出书籍、杂志2000余种，图片250余张。

1982年11月9日是巴基斯坦诗人、哲学家穆罕默德·伊克巴尔诞辰105周年纪念日，中国人民对外友协会举行纪念会。

1981年11月15日至20日，中国人民解放军总参谋长杨得志访问巴基斯坦。图为杨得志在巴基斯坦第四军军长洛第中将陪同下观看部队演习。

1984年5月13日，中国人民解放军海军司令员刘华清陪同访的巴基斯坦军参谋长塔立克•卡迈勒•汗海军上将检阅海军东海舰队仪仗队。

1991年12月31日，中巴政府双方代表在人民大会堂签署中国和巴基斯坦核电站合作合同。

Interesting. As a sidenote notice the changing choice of clothing. Pakistani's tend to wear western suits in earlier decades, 1950s/1960s but the Chinese are wearing eastern clothing. Today we wear eastern clothing and Chinese wear western clothing.

Suggesting the societal change from inward, backward to outward and forward looking that has taken place in China but the reverse has happened in Pakistan ...

What happened to Bhutto family was a true tragedy, the family was very friendly to China. The older generations had a very fond memory of them.
