ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s senior aide Sartaj Aziz on Friday shunned aside US President Barack Obama’s statement that Pakistan and Afghanistan will continue to face instability and turmoil for decades.

“During his address, the US president did not single out Pakistan. He mentioned several regions, within which Pakistan and Afghanistan were also included,” Aziz said. ”Whatever the US president said about instability in Pakistan and Afghanistan are his predictions and have nothing to do with ground realities,” he added.

Instability will continue in many parts of world, including Pakistan: Obama

“We are in an unstable region but we are determined to defeat terrorism and bring stability,” the adviser told Chinese scholars, diplomats and reporters during a meeting in Islamabad.

In his final State of the Union address this week, US President Barack Obama said that instability will continue for decades in many parts of the world — in the Middle East, in Afghanistan and Pakistan, in parts of Central America, Africa and Asia.

“Our foreign policy must be focused on the threat from ISIL and al Qaeda, but it can’t stop there. For even without ISIL, instability will continue for decades in many parts of the world — in the Middle East, in Afghanistan and Pakistan, in parts of Central America, Africa and Asia,” Obama declared.

Disagreeing with Obama’s address, Aziz said, “The government is taking effective steps to deal with challenges faced by the country at various levels.”

Its good that government has come out and rubbished such comments. This is what a government is suppose to do. I hope the trend continues

Its because CIA, RAW & Mosad will not end financing terrorists & they will continue to rent more man power.

Normally when someone leaves the office, they recall and highlight their achievements during the term of service. If Obama meant the same, then instability in Pakistan and the rest of the world was the task given to him and he delivered really well on that.
First up, he should return his Noble prize for peace, he did everything but worked for peace. Its a shame, all he achieved in his 8 years was instability and economical crashes and a fake Noble Prize for peace.
and why are his ears so bulged out of his skulls, he shudn't be a president anyways. He could be a cartoon character but not president of USA in right frame of things.

Lol trust me. If a republican was there in his place, the world would have even been more worser. US might have even attacked Iran, again creating probs in Pakistan. He is the only US president who wanted to resolve issue with Iran.

US president, though world's powerfull, do not have magic wands. They too have an internal audience to play into

I am not sure what is the plan of US for Pakistan...But strange thing is US was on side with Pakistan when Pakistan was officially sponsoring and a client state of US in fighting Afgan war...But now is 2015, Pakistan may be still supporting and sponsoring terrorist for India, but the intensity is not the same as it was 30 years back..So the democracy is taking roots in Pakistan...So rather shunning Pakistan out, US should have encouraged Nawaz Sarif to take bold steps what he is doing now to fight against terrorism....

In a nutshell, Pakistan was praised by US when it was not supposed to be but being warned or pointed out when it should not...That is the tragedy of US when they relate and trust the Army general of a nation more than the PM itself...

Martian was missed out ..... But introspection seems to be suicidal for Pakistan as per you......

On topic
I dont think Pakistan will go into dark days of instability hereon .....

Would Mr. Aziz like to admit now that President Obama may not have been wrong in saying what he did? Or will it take a few more months?

US and NATO will keep the blind eye on ISIS getting strong in Afghanistan, they along with India will make sure that ISIS get their influence in Pakistan ...
just like they shift the entire Afghan war into Pakistani borders ..
Pu$$ie's

Is Pakistan that weak to allow ISIS to permeate in such a way in the first place?

Weak ? Pakistan is been surrounded .. from all sides ..
from Afghan side , we have TTP , AQ , Afghan Taliban and now ISIS .. from other side we have Indians ..
US and NATO sitting in Afghanistan and yet Taliban are roaming free in Afghanistan , and now ISIS holding ground .. So US and NATO are impotent ? the border is huge and Open between Afghanistan and Pakistan .. it can easy to penetrate and our Tribal's who are constantly supporting Afghans, Tajik and Uzbek's ..

Are those predictions or their plans for Pakistan?
they gain NOTHING by returning to this region again...what we should worry about is the constantly deteriorating situation in afghanistan....our stability is linked to theirs..so we should work towards that issue IMHO
