Breaking news on ARY, that American President Barack Obama is due to visit Pakistan in January,
Where as Hilary Clinton is arriving tomorrow to discus the president's visit and other issues.

. . .
the relations seem shaky at this moment; there's always the possibility it could be cancelled

the visit should only take place if there are signs that both will see eye-to-eye on certain issues that concern both; otherwise it just becomes a photo-opp.

and these photo-opps aren't cheap....Pakistanis have to close down roads, set up checkpoints and disrupt traffic....American tax payers have to spend tens of millions of dollars because the Federal Secret Service has to do costly threat assesments and bring their safety equipment on a plane to Pakistan.

a symbolic speech or two helps -- but Obama is not a man who keeps his promises. It's difficult to establish a proper working relationship with him and his admin; we had a better working relationship with the previous regime in Washington --which is quite ironic, actually.

Good news for Pakistan; an opportunity for Pakistan to improve its relationship with US

. . . .
He shouldnt.... we dnt need more rascals in the country .. we have enough of them already.

Issues are resolved by meeting and talking and us Pakistanis have never been non-welcoming hosts!!!

If we can welcome Indian leadership to Pakistan, why not the Americans who after all have been friends off and on?

You dont invite indecent, ghatia people to ur house... nor do u make the same mistake over and over again...

US only cares abt its own interests... and our spineless leaders cant protect the national interests... so why even bother?

The end result would be obama osama telling us to "do more" nothing else.. no trade,no nuke deals, opposing our seat in UNSC etc etc

Because even the Indian leadership displays more civility and respect towards a nation with which it has fought wars, when on Pakistani soil, than the US leadership has displayed so far in its treks to Pakistan.

When was the last time a US leader did not lecture Pakistan on 'doing more' on a visit here?

Then change your leaders, but what is this suggestion about shoving your head in the sand and not wanting to talk to anyone? How do you think the business of the world happens? We should just become isolationists?

The more face time you have, the greater the opportunity to get your point across. Our leaders not having a spine is not the fault of the other side. Its something that we need to demand of our leaders.
