Frankly speaking I dont mind people calling for Azaan . Sample this:

In India on Diwali night we all use lights instead of earthen lamps now. We use modern technology and architecture to build temples and spread the message of Hinduism.

If a muslim also uses technology for the same purpose then we cant be against that.

Furthermore Hinduism teaches tolerance among many other things and if we cant even be tolerant to the act where a person of one religion is calling all others of his religion to wake up and offer prayers then I dont know what we can be tolerant about.

Also the Azaan is not more many minutes, its for a very small duration. What about Jagratas that happen throughout the night and wont let you sleep? Will you want that to be banned too?

We can harp about democracy , noise pollution etc. but out of all this what we really need to understand is that first comes Humanity . Humanity sows the seed of tolerance upon which a solid society can be built.

Western countries are different, there individualism beats collectivism ( if this is the right word). They will ban anything even if it disturbs a single person . In India it is about sacrificing a little part of you for the good of many.

On the same note: I think the verdict of Babri Masjid is correct. However muslims should have been more tolerant and accepted and out of court settlement.

The point is....

Mumbai High court has put restrictions on the decibal levels during a religious ceremony.....and that is implemented whether you're Hindus or Muslim....

I think people missed out the first line that Shiv Sena was fined......a clear sign of the neutral nature of this law

So Muslims in India will also have to abide by the laws.....ie. no Azan before 6 am and control the decibal levels simple....

And for some of you Pakistanis.....please dont keep throwing out stupid statements like "India is a democracy....so people should be allowed to do whatever they want and this is impinging on their right"

Democracy does NOT mean every individual, community, ethnicity gets the right to choose their laws and do as they please under the guise of "right to freedom".....this is the definition of Anarchy NOT Democracy....

If the Azan issue is such a big pain point for Indian Muslims (which it is not....seems its more a problem for Pakistanis)...then they should move this to the courts to let them decide on whats right or wrong.....
