Not enough room for China in Indian Ocean: Maldives

Thank you Janab Mohamed Nasheed, President of Maldives.

Now, china's string of pearls have broken.

Indian Navy's tie up with Seychelles, Maldives etc. have failed chinese strategy.

Even forced India to go on and build foundation of strategic tie up with Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia etc.

So we can say its a reverse string of pearls for china.

Reverse String of pearls will be a foolish idea..because truth be told we still are not a massive military power..we can project power in indian ocean..and at best in outer fringes of South china sea...

What we can do is to sign defence agreements with Japan,Korea, vietnam and Indonesia..

Make something clear to our neighbours such as Srilanka,bangladesh..that they can have civil/military relationship with China..But any chinese military personnel are put on their soil..india will consider these countries as enemies and will do everything to destroy them..ofcourse covertly..

Srilanka and Bangladesh knows very well not to get caught in india-china web..They will leech favors, grants both from China and india by playing each other but wont commit to an military relationship...
India can live with that..

We don't rely on Pakistan to intervene in a war should hostilities break out between China and India.

We supply weapons and perhaps military support to Pakistan not vice versa

..and what do u think Russia will do incase of india-china hostilities...They will provide us with military support by supplying weapons and spare parts...

In case of prolonged war...china will be left grappling for support which they will not recieve from either USA or Russia..because Russia may support u against USA or Japan. But against us..they wont support u, but us....

May be u will receive help from Pakistan or NK perhaps..

US has bases in Indian ocean in Diego Garcia. The US navy is the most powerful force in Indian ocean and will be responsible in deeping balance of power against China in Western Pacific and Indian Ocean. In 20 years, I predict Indian would open up its ports to the US navy.

untrue. India would never open up a base of its' for tactical use. Training maybee, but never for this. Do you really see India as this weak?

.
Very true. One thing the Russians make clear is that their foreign policy is highly opportunistic. Russian leaders befriend China because they want a partner to counter US hegemony, whether its preventing the spread of NATO or kicking out US bases in Central Asia. Because Russia is an unreliable ally, China is working hard to advance its domestic armaments industry. Dependence on Russia is more a thing of weakness.

All foreign policies are opportunistic. Why pick on Russia? Read the history of Europe. It is a story of shifting alliances between UK, France and Russia. At any point of time in history, it was two of these powers combined against the third. With devastating effect. It is realpolitiks. China has come into the picture only recently.

Sometimes, its a great idea to view strategic perspective from others instead from inside a well. The US foolishly allow China and Russia to be closer to each other because of incompetencies of the Clinton administration. As of now, these two countries are closer to each other than they are individually to the US. This is the most important triangular relationship. India need to find a room in the light of this strategic situation. So its either siding with China/Russia the SCO. Or with US lead Nato. India does not have economic, political or technological muscle to be a pole by itself.

Some of the fact u stated were right,India currently do not have have the financial, political or tech muscle to be a pole by itself, and it have to align itself in either one pole, but at this point facts ended.

After that fiction started,in Indian language 'Masala'.

India have to join one of the two block and one according to u is Russia/China:lol:

How dare u put China there,Indian's siding with China will be last thing to happen in this planet.

If u only stated Russia,u may had earned one more Brownie point, but u urself destructed it.

China being one pole is just like a rat's posterior for us,nobody care here.

Just to remind u,Cold war era is over..
Its no US vs Russia now...

I support India joining SCO. By doing so, there will be two powerhouses (India and Russia) to prevent China from dominating the organization, like U.S. dominates NATO. It will bring more stability and security to Asia :agree:

Really, the only impediment to Sino-Indian relations is the Chinese support for Pakistan. Hopefully, Pakistan balkanizes sometime this century so we can solve that problem...

You can keep having wet dreams, but you better wake up and apologize LoL :)

As you say, Russians are opportunists. India can never depend them in a time of need. Funny, your crazed need to counter Chinese arguments has you contradicting your own faith in Russia. China has a longer history of realpolitik than you can imagine. Just read the Romance of Three Kingdoms.

what is wet here,Russia is insisting India to join SCO,but India itself is confused about joining it,apologize for what?

P.S-We here in India do not consider SCO as some big muscle,SCO is all about China and Russia, their is nothing in it except that.

We r members of much better organization's like IBSA and BRICS,which r poised to be the next economic giants.

Some of these guys really should start reading the pravda.....or some other russian main stream news paper.

While I'm not familiar with the pravda, I am aware that Russians on the streets have a fair bit of Chinaphobia and paranoia. Not that they can do much about it because Russia's foreign relations are decided in Moscow. And yes, the recent warming in Russia-China relations is mostly a top-down affair, one that is decided by the mutual governments, not the people. That does not make Russia-China relations any less meaningful or any less real. By the way, I do regularly watch Russia Today, an English-language Russian broadcast. It is fiercely anti-American and sees China as an ally.

Everything about india is a mirage, it will only get anywhere if it stops talking bs, and gets down to hard work like the PRC.

We can't? I strongly suggest you read on the history of Indo-Russian cooperation. In particular, do some reading on the 1971 Indo-Pak war and the Soviet involvement in that conflict.

Also, India has a longer history of realpolitik than either China or Europe, going back to the Vedic Age Mahajanapadas and reaching its zenith under Chanakya's geopolitical masterpiece, Arthashastra. But all that does not affect the present-day scenario, does it?
