No one expects you to forget the land that gave birth to you.....the US certainly doesn't expect that. If you notice, the French here, have kept their French culture and its visible from Vines to everything else. The Indian lobby is a known factor, they've lived here and some of their third generation is being raised here but their priority is still India. So in that context, no one expects you to forget your home country. But when bad things happen, people have questions around, why did one come here if they didn't like this country and its culture. I think those are valid questions, which THEN give birth to how loyal others are to the US.

Remember, one bad Apple rottens a bunch. Its a sad trickle down effect.
