Norway, Philippines ambassadors among 7 killed in Gilgit helicopter crash

save it for now

my real issue is why the human tragedy has taken a secondary importance and why it is suddenly important for Indians to look at sabotage as the most important thing in this tragedy.
Just as beef nonsense was important to indians at tht timeof severe calamity. what a shame. And they were alll foreign diplomats. Indians' celebratory mood and excited reactions should be shown to the respective govs of deceased diplomats ....

37 foreign diplomats along with multiple ambassadors AND, The PM of Pakistan were going for inauguration of a chair lift project :undecided:

Those guys had their wives on board too. So....

Very sad incident. RIP to dead. Best of health to injured. Incident should be investigated for all aspects

First and foremost we send our heartfelt condolences to all nations affected by this tragic accident. Our prayers go out to the families who lost loved ones including the ambassadors of Norway and the Philippines. We hope and pray for the early and complete recovery of all injured in this tragic helicopter crash.

Rip to pilots and vistors on board....can any tell me school kids are safe? I feel very bad if any small kids are suffering

give yourself a rest and wait for the news to mature

the truth will eventually come out if it was an accident due to fault weather, pilot error or an attack as claimed.

there is nothing more to this story everybody should stop before you start trading insults and troll like every other thread.

A) Faulty Weather :- PAF didn't know anything about the weather of the area or didn't read the weather report before planning a route?

B) Pilot Error :- When VIP's is ferrying , any airforce would deploy the most experienced Pilot and machine . You are saying, If pilot error then PAF put the inexperience pilot which don't have any experience of flying in that route ? or flying of very first time on that route.

In both above cases their is very in-professional attitude by PAF.

Even though if they would have shot an RPG and luckily it hits the right place still probability of survivors in such incident is less then 10% but their are only 6 fatalities and 13 survivors so it seems no sabotage by TTP stooges is possible.

By the way the Chut!@ ki aulad and actually a Haramxada khurasani B@stard trying to score points and his sh!ty claim shows off he don't seems to know a d!ck about man pads. If they would have used a Man Pad BC it would be a devastation and absolute destruction and survival of 17 passenger shows he is an a$$ hope licker.
In case of Engine failure/ gear oil leak , MI-17 has manual system which helps in makes land safely but in that case both the pilots need to work accordingly.

Almost all helis can land safely if the engine fails, something known as "Auto-rotation"

This is sad my brother was killed in an aircraft accident years ago when his aircraft lost power after takeoff, i have a friend that was also killed in an aircraft crash along with most of his family.

Edit great that no one was killed, hopefully it's not a rumor.
sorry for your loss. Loosing one's own brother and friend is tough.

So a guy doesn't know which branch of armed forces pilot belonged to and he is raising questions on their professionalism . Bravo. New level of ignorance and stupidity unlocked.

PAF has nothing to do with this incident, copter that crash landed belonged to army aviation. Weather forecast is never hundred percent accurate, similarly experienced pilots don't necessarily attain the title of being invincible, no air craft is immune to have technical issues. As IB stated, let the story mature, it's too early to determine the cause that lead copter to crash land.

I don't think it was possible to provide a copter to each diplomat, about four dozen diplomats from 37 countries were on trip. A plane carried the guests from Islamabad to Gilgit, 3 MI-17 were carrying the guests from Gilgit to Naltar valley, distance between former and latter is 40kms.

But you have a point anyway.
No doubt the logistical challenge was considerable given the number of high ranking/value individuals but we have now seen the cost associated with transporting them together. It doesn't need to be said that the risks would have been reduced had 6-7 helos been used instead of just 3.

20:20 retrovision, I'm sure the PA/GoP will learn its lesson and SOPs will be changed accordingly.
