North Korea confirms its fourth nuclear test - live

Amazing development. More power to states opposing US hegemony. :pop:

Important strategic milestone on part of our North Korean neighbors. If all the speculation is true, they may have just reinforced their sovereignty.

As for their delivery capabilities, just as the US likes to hold some cards against China, that might as well become a trump card for China to use against the US in urgent contingencies. Whether DPRK has enough delivery capability or not is just a matter of conjectures; the required tech/systems can be supplied by China if the US comes to threaten the regional dynamics and China's most vital interests.

Comes at an interesting time when Obama shed tears over signing gun control law. Hopefully, he will also outlaw the billion dollar nuclear upgrade.

Too naive, why not ?

Mao's China also based on anti-US, even fought Korea War with U.S lead U.N Army ... killed U.S.A soldiers. It sounds like USSR and Vietnam knows US will never support China cause the foundation of that country is based on anti-US... then what ? LOL ! National interests much bigger than traditional ally and supporter, so they still come ... and i said N.Korea just wanna prove they r a useful helper for U.S and China, anyone can pay for a high price to buy them, coz they have a nuke !

China and US didn't have a feud lasting this long and matters the very existence of the country, and the war between China and US was not fought in China's soil, it was a proxy war. as I mentioned time and again, what China does and what China has been doing shows that the Chinese leadership knows very well what suits China the best on this matter.China's main concern is Japan and US, N.Korea is a god sent bargain chip for China.

In an idealistic and perfect world, yes. The unification of the Korean peninsula should have happened decades ago, however, due to the years of divide between Pyongyang and Seoul and the culture of apprehension both nations have for each other, makes unification even more unlikely. With the course of nuclear weapons acquisition, Pyongyang has thereby guaranteed that they have clout in the negotiating table to deter South Korean military adventurism , and even American + another regional strategic ally that has interests in Korea.
Ethnically people from North and South Korea are not much different if not same. However brutal military regime over years has led to a situation, where we donot know what the voice and will of people from North really is.
Right from 1950s, Korean peninsula has been a hotbed of conflict between Communist and Free economy world. Today both China and Russia have moved way ahead of that ideology and even South Korea has become one of the leading lights of modern Developed Nations.
I naive on this matter, but don't think South Korea has any plans on North and now with growing arsenal in North Koreas kitty (N Weapons, Long range missiles), i guess it is time world comes together to uproot the rogue regime in North Korea otherwise who knows where weapons of mass destruction would end up (ISIS etc) for cash and resource starved N Korea.

What ends up in ISIS and the likes' hand is not North Korean money, arms or tech, but US-led Western (and its allies) money, training and equipment.

So, talking about rogue regimes, consider starting from Washington and then move down the list where the likes of Saudi Arabia, Turkey etc. stand.

I mean china has every motivation to keep her "friends" like north korea, myanmar, pakistan etc rogue regimes otherwise they lose influence and money as these nations get other competitve alternatives to chinese investments and support.

Something the rulers of these nations will do well to remember. The myanmarese seem to have realised it lately.

You talk as if India is loved by countries big and small。

The reality is that India is liked by a particular country only when that country wants to sell India something。

And that something often happens to be expensive weapaons。

Useless weapons in the hands of hapless and harmless Indians。:lol:

North Korea never makes troubles and starts wars outside their own country. Why should we work together to uproot some country who randomly starts war and brings tremendous disasters to millions of peoples worldwide first?

Man, don't make joke. When China, Russia, America are in the region, there is no chance for other nations to enter in peninsula.

If you know what happened in middle east recently, you will understand why North Korea make nuclear text today. Korean use this mess of middle east.

This man kim seems determined to transform NK to a level, where no one even dream to challenge her sovereignty. He must have a huge pair to stand against the entire world...

Congrats to North koreans for this achievement.

Well said bro.

Thermonuclear science, ICBM techs, are nothing new. A physics graduate somewhere in Tanzania may also claim enough knowledge on these, let alone highly intelligent North Koreans. However it's not hard to figure out that knowing something, and making it happen, are completely different concepts. That's why only less than a handful of nations have built such capabilities. So even if we wildly assume the North Koreans are capable of building a sophisticated industrial complex with deep supply chain of tools, machineries, components & energy, where do they get the essential raw materials?

But of course, there are game rules, so they will receive "condemnation" from Foreign Office of PRC.

Not really. As ghaddafi proved, without nukes no country is safe to be ruled. Specially if it has something valueable in it.

Can you spot the difference?

Yeah I notice that Libya has oil. Kim Jong doesn't. Like you said has to have something valuable. So North Korea thinks they are under threat by American aggression, but nukes or no nukes, its not useful to them.

Remember Sir NK will arrange for US before the strike on Japan or SK.

One submarine is enough to wipe out North Korea. I think we can see how this ends.

North Korea never makes troubles and starts wars outside their own country.
Also never contribute anything worthwhile to the world.

Why should we work together to uproot some country who randomly starts war and brings tremendous disasters to millions of peoples worldwide first?
We did. It was called the Soviet Union.

North Korea has H-bomb. South Korea has Samsung, Hyundai, Posco and KIA. Making H-bomb takes some money out of every North Korean's pocket while South Korean corporates give jobs to them and also represent the knowledge and skills acquired by the South Koreans. But H-bomb gives eternal glory. Therefore North Korea is the clear winner here.

Nobody even cared about the earthquake it caused? Some buildings near the border were shaken and people there felt scared, let alone those in NK. The regime is totally inconsiderate for people in both sides. Average people in Northeast China are all condemning this move.
