NOROUZ 2023....Persians celebrate their new year

Norouz is the first day of spring equinox, the first day of spring, the 21 March and the start of Norouz festival to celebrate the rejuvenation of the earth.

Iranians have celebrated this day for thousands of years and consider the day as the start of Iranian calendar. It remains the biggest and most important festival in Iran (something like x-mas/new year is to the christians).

Preparation are in full swing for the next few days to March 21.

Coming year is rabbit. I think its chinese zodiac.

Congrats to all whom celebrate such a wonderful tradition esp Iranians people in Iran plateau and cultural Iran ... spring and new year next to blossoms with such a precise synchrony with spring equinox which indicate rich history ,culture mathematics, astronomy and beauty all combined together ... The most beautiful festival of all times- I have more fond memories of basant than of Eid or independence day celebrations

Although it celebrates arrival of spring while this one's more of a new year celebrations
