What's new

Non-Christians 'not my brother,' 'not my sister'

dont judge all Americans just because of one idiot lol

Seriously, people should not inflate these things. I live in America with Muslim Mosques, Sikh and Hindu Temples near by too. So please save it.

Most of America is tolerate, but places like the deep South I dont know...

I agree with Liquid...

don't know about south, but north is very diverse place!!!

What makes you say that America has anything to do with this. It is religion. All Abrahamic religions have this intolerance built into them.

Oh so you mean to say Sikhism, Hinduism and the likes have been very tolerant of other religious beliefs? Or even their own? :what:

'My God is the best and yours is a fake'. Isn't this what the Conquistadors say when they massacred entire native populations?

'I am clean and you are NOT'. The conquistadors should have treated their own kind as untouchables or classed them as unclean. That would have been even better, no?

Wasn't this the most important tool in the hands of the British East India Company or the Dutch East India Company when they expanded Christian rule to middle and southern Africa and Asia? Isnt't this what the Muslims said when they invaded Persia? or what Muhammad bin Quasim said when he invaded Sindh and Punjab and forcibly converted thousands of Hindus on the point of the sword and what Bakhtiyar Khilji said when he destroyed Nalanda and massacred the Buddhist monks?

I wonder what tool Ashoka used to conquer Kalinga. Maybe the same that Raja Dahir used.

Why do you sound so surprised? They have been doing this for more than a millennium. They are still at it.

Maybe we shouldnt be surprised at anything anymore. Mis-treatment of widows, Dalits and the likes? They have been doing this for more than fifteen hundred years. They are still at it.

As a christian i can tell you with complete honesty that i know a lot of hindus who attend church sermons or/and mosques and yet maintain the same religous frevor they have to their gods.
Yes. A good many of them extremly broad minded and tolerant.

Wow. So apparently, according to you, Hinduism does ''TOLERANCE'' better than any other religion and there is no such thing as extremism and radicalized bigots.

What are you doing, being part of the star crossed beliefs?? Come on over to the happy side.

There are bigots and radicals everywhere. It would be hypocritical to suggest islam or even christianity doesnt have the same. I only suggested they are a whole lot more tolerant and open minded. It is my understanding that india is where she is today because she always accommodates . The moment they stop accomodating , it will meet the same fate as pakistan.

This is a defence forum and religous discussion is not allowed here according to webby. But in general, the bible says jesus is the only way. But i would like to add that people are free to choose what they believe.
I do not have any intention of forcing my belief on another.

Ah yes India at her accommodating self. Very hospitable when it comes to other religions especially Muslims. I wonder why 90,000 muslim students cant open accounts in state banks (BBC News - India state-run banks 'turn away Muslims'), Gujarat massacres, Mumbai riots.

The list goes on when it comes to Indians and their tolerance.:yahoo:

Another thread for that I guess.

Are you a Orthodox Christian? Your from Kerala. I think Kerala has been one of the most tolerate places in India. Jews came to Kerala when their Second temple was destroyed in 70 AD. St. Thomas has also come to Kerala and was welcome by the local Hindu king and had permission to built Churches and founded the first Christian movement in India, when rest of Europe was still Pagans.

But there are those fanatical nut job Hindus for sure. That think like Hindustan for only Hindus, but thats very few.

You would think in a nation like India with a Billion people many sects, religions, races, etc, etc, etc, etc there would be riots and havoc everywhere. India and Indians in India have beat all odds. Cause it could have ended up like Yugoslavia or something.

Jai Hind!

I understand you are a pak national and knows only what you read about india. As for me, i study in an engineering college run by muslims and it is one of the best in our state. Getting accepted in it was a personal achievement for me. All my life i have had muslim friends even in dubai where i studied for a while. Not once have i seen "discrimination" handed out to the muslims. I dont know if that bbc link you provided was for real or just sensationalised but i can tell you from experience it isnt so.
