KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain and 20 other senior party leaders over anti-Pakistan statements.

The leaders were accused of inciting violence and delivering anti-Pakistan speeches. The MQM leaders had attended a public gathering and listened to Altaf Hussain’s outburst against security agencies on July 12 this year.

Farooq Sattar, Wasim Akhtar, MQM parliamentary leader in Sindh Assembly Khawaja Izharul Hasan, Khushbakht Shujaat, Rasheed Godil and Qamar Mansoor are among other senior party leaders against who warrants have been issued.

The ATC also directed that the accused be arrested and produced before the court on January 2.

Earlier in September, the ATC had issued non-bailable arrest warrants for MQM chief Altaf Hussain in the criminal intimidation case registered on the complaint of Colonel Tahir Mehmood of Sindh Rangers. In the FIR, Col Mehmood — who led the paramilitary force in the March 11 predawn raid at Nine Zero, the MQM headquarters in Karachi – maintained that Altaf in a television talk show threatened the officers who were part of the raiding team.

There is no doubt MQM has blind following of Muhajirs after decades of brainwashing done to make them believe that they are being victimised. Nothing will come out of this verdict. I don't think , that our establishment wants to push whole sindh into ant-establishment mode?
Specially after MQMs latest win in LB polls & after showdown against PPP privincial govt .

Anti-army/Pakistan speeches has a long history , & was done every where in the country ?
I think , its just a warning shot , if not we are moving whole sindh , towards a political disaster , in which our enemies & super foreign powers will be dancing to put fuel on fire ?

Non-bailable arrest warrants issued for 25 senior MQM leaders
ISHAQ TANOLI — UPDATED ABOUT AN HOUR AGO

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) here issued non-bailable warrants for the arrest of 25 senior leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in a case registered against them for facilitating Altaf Hussain’s July 12 speech critical of the military establishment.

The MQM leaders were named in different FIRs by private complainants who alleged that the named persons had attended a public gathering and listened to Altaf Hussain's outburst against the security agencies on July 12 this year.

In his speech, Hussain had accused the paramilitary forces of torturing and killing his party workers.

Examine: Altaf accuses Rangers chief of violating army code of conduct

Compiled on the basis of FIRs registered against the MQM leaders at police stations in Malir cantonment, Sukhan, Bin Qasim Town, New Town and Steel Town, Karachi police presented before the ATC a charge sheet in which the MQM leaders were charged under Section 12 (collection of evidence in the absence of accused) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).

Accepting the charge sheet, ATC-I judge Bashir Ahmed Khoso issued non-bailable arrest warrants for 25 MQM leaders, including MQM chief Altaf Hussain, MQM's mayoral candidate for Karachi Waseem Akhtar and senior party leaders Farooq Sattar, Khawaja Izharul Hassan, Rauf Siddiqui, Qamar Mansoor, Rehan Hashmi , Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Rasheed Godil, Kaiful Wara and others.

The court directed the police to arrest and present the accused before the court on January 2.

The development comes a week after the MQM nominated Waseem Akhtar for the position of Karachi mayor following its comprehensive victory in local government elections in Karachi earlier this month.

In July, FIRs were registered in different parts of the country against Altaf Hussain for remarks made by him against the chief of Rangers in Sindh and the paramilitary force in his speeches.

In the FIRs, the MQM chief was accused of involvement in cases of criminal conspiracy, waging or attempting or abetting the waging of war against Pakistan and committing acts of terrorism.

His July 12 speech was apparently in response to media reports that quoted Rangers sources as saying the paramilitary force was going to release a factsheet about the March 11 raid on MQM’s Nine Zero headquarters in Azizabad.

Altaf Hussain had called upon the army chief to take notice of the alleged violation of army’s code of conduct by the director general of Sindh Rangers and other officials and urged him to do justice in the matter.

PPP is showing , PML n & establishment that not only they can use , rented judiciary for their interests , but PPP can swing the ball in both ways too ?
& signal is clear to MQM, that if they ever thought to be part of any anti-PPP activity within SINDH ASSEMBLY or aka governors rule in sindh , they will face the music ,surly ?

Everything will be o k,once altaf Hussain stops being angry with his buddy Zardari,join his coalition of Sindh govt and go back to the original business. .....
