No public hero after imran khan in last 40 years in pakistan

.
What is the definition of "Hero"?

Lets see.

If it is, cricket then Probably Shahid Khan Afridi is bigger Hero, For Making it up to end, for most of the times alone.

Compare states of IK and Afridi as cricketer, all rounder and captain. IK is way ahead of Afridi. Plus IK is the only captain so far to win ODI WC plus beating India in India in a test series for first time and all that?

But if it is Social Work then Abdul Sadar Edhi is bigger Hero

No doubt, but IK isn't far behind. Maybe he's next one after Edhi in social work.

If it is making whole nation proud, than who can be better candidate then Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan?

AQ Khan is highly exaggerated, it was a team effort and he took all the credit to himself.

If it is mass following, then is there any other candidate then Moulana Tariq Jameel?

Even Meera has following. Following alone means nothing actually.

If it is political following, then Bhutto was on the top, and B.B to follow, both were present in Past 40 years, their jiyala following is Huge.

BB has mostly Bhutto's following, so basically it was Bhutto. Again, IK probably comes second to Bhutto in this regard too. Who knows IK leaves Bhutto behind in coming years, by miles..

So many names, for so many Heros of the country in past years. Just pick your definition, and Imran Khan don't fall anywhere

So all the criterias you yourself have posted above, IK ranks high in the list in all of them. Which makes him what? A National Hero.

.
in 1992 after the World Cup Win, IK was on top of the 'Hero' world. he used that popularity to construct a cancer hospital with huge donations by the public esp. the school going teenagers. if he had continued to do the good work he had started way back then instead of 'sullying' his name in politics, he would have been 'THE HERO' for Pakistan public at large......

What good is a hero if he cannot take a little heat? We are in desperate need of heroes in politics. Without stable political system, all other good work gets thrown down the drain. I guess IK realized that over the years and made the decision.

"You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain"

IK was same time was poplar among male females in and out side Pakistan, with attractive charming personality and sup rub control of line and length in and out swing PLUS batting performance, victory in World Cup bring him more famous. I'm agreed with OP that we didn't have yet a hero like him.

That's the point sir, he could have done and earned a lot by staying out of politics. But he still opt to come into politics. Struggled in politics despite being torn apart by propaganda from his rivals, he lost his wife due to that, he got gazillions of attacks on his personal life (and still faces the same), he faced tons of silly conspiracy campaigns against himself (yahoodi agent etc) but he still strives in political arena after facing all that for almost two decades.

The man simply don't know how to quit. Once he's upto something, he'll make sure its done no matter in how much time or at what cost.

I have a cousin, who was born in 92. His father still proudly tells us, that he named his only son after his hero, Imran Khan.

Shows the love people had for IK at that time, and kudos to IK for using that fame for a noble cause i.e. construction of Pakistan's first cancer hospital.

his character is 'not to give up' but politics is a dirty, dirty, game and anyone or everyone gets bashed because of the 'gutter press' in our country.

maybe so....in politics you need to lie and cheat to survive, and IK dosnt come from that stock.

Yes, but to change this gutter politics system, we need more people like IK in politics. In fact, this gutter politics came into being in our country because of no interest of education class in politics over the past several decades.

. . .
