No more energy projects based on imported coal

To clarify we are not moving away from coal but imported coal...
Thar block 2 has un earthen coal and any future power plants will and shud be based on local coal ...

By the way it's not a new decision... this is re affirming already agreed rule of 2016

Imran sb they are talking about future project (Planned not executed).
Govt. simply can't back off from existing contract with IPP. They are required to Pay even if Govt. is not getting Electricity(Either due to Main Line Fault, or Govt. didn't paid them for Energy)

Yes and Good Quality as well. Only logical reason is reducing your Import Bills.

It Depend. Using Local Coal even if little expensive would help reducing IMPORT BILLS of Coal.
For IPP it depend who own the company or shares% Engro or Lucky are Local Companies but Sahiwal Coal Plant is Chinese.
Our two consecutive Democratic Govt. took huge Loans if they have just constructed 4~5 Mega Dams.
We would not need more IPP or Foreign IPP.

+ generators imports reduced
+ cost of doing business reduced
+ Exports Increased & Imports Reduced

we were destroyed 18 hours was load shedding our economy doomed our industry shut down or moved to neighboring coal powered countries and still we are worry about CO2 ?even we have 0 CO2 we will be most polluted as most polluted countries are our next door and pollution did not stop at borders .

I am all for coal as well. Our neigbours have f***** up the neigborhood anyways especially India. One country in the middle caring about nature will make no difference.

Awesome decision. Why the heck are we importing coal when we have it in abundance.

Make use of the massive coal reserves and do it on a priority basis. Do it cleanly and responsibly. Make use of Chinese expertise who train our local miners. Much of the work has already been ongoing. Don't listen to the oil lobby.

That's why I am for indigenous projects like the dames we are trying to build but in the case of fuel imports for electricity generation we take a double hit .

This man is the biggest fraud in the history of pakistan.
Just has a luck of being at top by polishing the powerful people's egos and boots, and taking the credit of all the hardworking people under him.

Any proof of such slanderous sweeping statement. He is talking about his employers so boldly who could fire him from his position at the time of this interview this speaks volumes regarding his character.
