As far as bali/ritual slaughter of goats in Hindu temples are concerned - in India very few places have this practice. Hopefully it will go out of vogue soon. If someone likes to have mutton, they can, provided they are not breaking the law(you can't slaughter in some places like hospitals etc. religious places(!), schools..) , but we should not have it in the name of God. Most Hindus, secular and otherwise, agree on this.

There's a clear trend emerging in the acts of BJP. Their intention seems to be to somehow dilute and scrap the non-hindu holidays. This is the first step towards hindu-only India by 2021.

Its quiet funny how vegetarian Hindus are judging the consumption of meat including beef in others Abrahamic religion based on their own Hindu beliefs and scripture. I dont know whether they have problem with meat or particular way of killing the animals or doing this slaughter in the name of God. Its like Muslim asking ban for wine in India because they personally see more harms in it than benefits.

Muslims are not allowed to kill animals for fun purpose but we dont treat cow as mata and bull as pita. we believe animals are creatures of Allah who were created for use of mankind i.e for purpose of meat , milk/dairy products, transporting, farming, clothing etc and its not required to do this slaughter of animal openly but most people dont have any separate place for doing qurbani so they do it at any free space available . I think lil kids should stay away at the time of slaughter because its not good sight for them and they often stop eating meat as this actually happened with my young sisters who now don't eat meat since they witnessed the qurbani at early age so elder should make sure no kids around
