The Kashmiri freedom fighting movement over the last three decades has lost its secular, indigenous fabric and turned into a insurgency led by Islamic radicals who wants to be part of or under an Islamic Caliphate.
The way world events are shaping in, even Pakistan, leave China will find it difficult to support these so called freedom fighters in next one or two decades.
My dear friend,
Good to have your views.
From one prisom they would hold water for obvious reasons. The other goes without saying...
It is not difficult to see that your country would like nothing better than to build a narrative of religious extremists attacking troops. Mind you, it is troops...
When it comes to creating a parallel and envoking images of terror in the West by terrorists of most hineous kind... yes, all Kashmiri freedom fighters are terrorists. It can sell both domestically in India and in the West which is a captive market.
It would make sense, certainly.
Regarding, Pak supporting freedom fighters... Pak has no other choice really. This support shall morph and accentuate further.
World events are shaping in the backdrop of something much bigger... these iISIL terrorists are just proxies. As the global power balance is in flux... it is premature to assume that the world events can only go in one direction.
Pendulum swings... holding it to one side requires will, means and ???
But I agree with you...global events are moving faster than I anticipated... and your country is playing a catalysing role in it.. it is starting. Bhutan is just an excuse, you and I both know... narratives need to be built.
You take good care,
SPF
