Some of them settled down in rest of India as well as Bengal and became local chieftains, but except for Sher Shah none left any great contribution. Ayub, Yahya and Tikka were puffed up with British "martial race theory", Pathans have no significant role in Islamic rule of India or Bengal, as far as I know.

If you are not a Muslim there is very little possibility that you would have any "negligible" turkic ancestry. Not that there is anything great about Turkic ancestry compared to Shudra, Dalit, Kshatrya or Brahman ancestry. Just pointing out the facts.
