NIGERIAN AIR FORCE CHIEF CONFIRMS EXPECTED JF-17 DELIVERIES

. . .
And what's this ?? To admit not only after several reads here I'm very much sceptical and even more will they not be tested at first at CAC similar to the JF-17 for Myanmar?

Myanmar is a different case, they were keen to get both parties involved and then there was off course the political side to it.... all the new JF-17s coming off the production line in PAC for PAF for example are not exactly sent to China for tests.

But why are the reports so contradicting? Some say the deal was not even signed while others now state they are close to delivery ?? ... even more nothing more was heard about them since some time.

Nigerian Defense Budget Confirms Buying Pakistani JF-17 Fighter, Super Mushak Trainers

Nigerian Federal Budget has confirmed an order for three JF-17 fighter aircraft along with 10 Super Mushak trainers from Pakistan.

Although there have been multiple reports of Nigerian officials and state documents listing the purchase, this is first-hand confirmation from the Government of Nigeria, Quwa reported Thursday.

For 2016, Nigeria has issued USD $1.5 million for the purchase. However, the proposed 2017 budget lists USD $68.76 million for “platform acquisitions … for counter air, counter surface, air ops for strategic effect and air support operations.”

It stands to reason that a portion of the proposed budget involves the JF-17s. While USD $68.76 million would be sufficient to pay for three JF-17s – and the requisite maintenance, logistics and training package – upfront, the budget likely includes other acquisitions

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it has successfully refurbished 13 aircraft, some of which have been successfully re-deployed to perform combat support roles for the army's war against Boko Haram in the north-east of the country.

Addressing delegates who attended a recent security seminar focused on the theme 'Developing Effective Air Power Responses to National Security Challenges in Nigeria', NAF Chief of Air Staff Air Marshall Sadique Abubakar said the NAF would soon enhance its operational capabilities with the delivery of 10 more aircraft.

The new fleet would comprise of four new Mi-35N attack helicopters ordered from Russia, at least three ex-Brazilian Air Force Super Tucanos suited for light attack and surveillance operations as well as three JF-17 Thunder fighter jets from Pakistan.

What's the total number on the order ?

Not sure but based on naf current fleet they have one mig21 and another f7s sqn not sure if full strength ?? Assuming eventually they would like to replace one for one and in the long run so from anywhere 10-30 in the long run jf but for now we know about 3 from naf budget plus naf chief own statement

Till
One see jf in naf color flying who knows

First customer ordered in 2015 and first delivery in 2017 so roughly 24 months for first delivery for naf assume 2016 but only 3 so assume another 24 months for first delivery so 2018 ?? Guessing

PAC should make a deal with Myanmar and Nigerian Air Force to supply them about 25-30 JF-17s Block-II single and dual seat till 2020. Both AF needs attention and power.

Bangladesh was never offered.. not officially.

Sri Lanka backed off after indian pressure.

Argentina isnt even buying cheap Kfirs... they are bankrupt.

.
Sirilanka posted an rfp rather than going straight to jf w/o competition nothing new though

Argentina wants transfer of tech but has no $$ for anything on the market even used kfir which will in the long run cost more per aaf
