Pakistan: former CIA analyst

Sunday, May 16, 2010
WASHINGTON: A former CIA analyst, who helped President Barack Obama formulate his Pakistan-Afghanistan policy, “sees a very serious possibility that the next mass casualty terrorist attack on the United States will be postmarked ‘Pakistan’”.

“What we’re seeing going on in Pakistan now is a very dangerous phenomenon,” says Bruce Riedel, Senior Fellow, Brookings Institution, in an interview with the Council on Foreign Relations, a Washington think tank.

“The ideology of al-Qaeda, the ideology of global Islamic jihad that all jihadists should focus on the United States as the ultimate enemy, is gaining ground with groups beyond al-Qaeda,” said Riedel, who chaired a special interagency committee last year to develop Obama’s afghnistan-pakistan policy.

Obama and previous Bush administrations have been pressuring Pakistan for years to shut down completely the jihadist Frankenstein that was created over three decades in Pakistan, Riedel said. But “no Pakistani government has yet been willing to take on the entire network of terrorist groups”, he said.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has also raised questions about some in the Pakistani government still retaining links to al-Qaeda, the Afghan Taliban, the Pakistani Taliban, Lashkar-e-Taiba and a host of other groups. “We saw this in 2008 in Mumbai, when Lashkar-e-Taiba attacked Mumbai and attacked American and Israeli targets,” Riedel said noting “Those are the targets of al-Qaeda and the global Islamic jihad”.

We’ve now seen the Pakistani Taliban try to launch an attack on the United States of America for the first time,” he said referring to the arrest of Pakistani-American Faisal Shahzad in connection to the failed car bombing in New York’s Times Square.

“This spreading of the idea of global Islamic jihad is very dangerous and as it gets deeper and deeper into the extremist groups in Pakistan, it means we can expect more attacks like the one we saw at Times Square, and we can expect them to become increasingly sophisticated and more capable,” Riedel said. Hillary has warned of “severe consequences” for Pakistan in the event of a successful Pakistan-based terrorist attack in the United States.

But US options to act against Pakistan are “severely limited”, Riedel said arguing the best option is “to get Pakistan to do more now” in its fight against extremism, he says, by providing more weapons and technological aid.

It means they are in their planning stages of a major false flag operation, lets keep tabs on every known bad seed and control the controllable elements to quash any such attack.

They want a reason to justify more military action and put pressure on Pakistan. Lets be vigilante and pray to Allah that nothing bad happens again.

The soviets used to say the same thing, though I was born in late 80's, I have read enough to know what is going on. They were negotiating with the modern elements in the mujahideen ranks but blamed Pakistan for collapse of negotiations.

I know Kiyani and Shuja Pasha are clever, hope they can pull us out of this.

We should be prepared for a possible false flag war directed against pakistan BTW heres something realy useful

Noetic theory

Noetic theory or noëtics (from Greek νοητικός "mental" from νοεῖν "to think" from νοῦς - noûs) is a branch of metaphysical philosophy concerned with the study of mind and intuition, and its relationship with the divine intellect. Among its principal purposes is to study the effects of perceptions, beliefs, and intention with respect to human consciousness[1].

The theory of noetics centers around the idea that the human mind is capable of affecting or even doing work to the physical world. It is suggested that thought and spirit are not in fact imaginary, but Bose or photon based,[2] meaning essentially that the mind can be quantified by formulae which describe quantum materials such as light. This is a radical conclusion where many people think thoughts are weightless. Just as gravity affects all matter, so do thoughts to an apparent lesser degree. Psychokinesis, more often called telekinesis, is concerned with the direct influence of mind on matter.

Noetics is controversial, but research grounded in scientific approach has brought the subject into a more serious light in recent years. Many members of academia in the fields of medicine, biology, psychology, philosophy, and physics believe in and study the effect of thoughts on the physical world, from health effects to throwing dice. Though skepticism has often surrounded this field of science, ground-breaking research aims to both quantify and make known the power of the human mind. It won a special highlight in the Dan Brown book, The Lost Symbol, where noetics were a central theme.

Bruce Reidel also said that the Pakistani Army is going to collaspe after they go in Sawat. We can see that did not happen. This guy has been making these sorts of predictions before president Obama came to power and as of yet the Pakistani army is functioning very professionally and we are actually defeating the extremist.

Winston Churchill said it the best, "An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile - hoping it will eat him last".

Far too long Pakistan has been appeasing the USA. It's time Pakistan stood up for once instead of rolling over. If anything, worse comes to worse, we should just stick two fingers up like Iran did and play the *neutral* card. No logistical support, no airspace, no airbases.

Do it yourself.

Haven't we learnt from the Iran-Iraq war when the USA were on one hand backing saddam with weapons, but as the same time giving the iranians satellite images of Iraqi troop formations?

Then when Saddam's became useless to them, they toppled him. Similarly once Pakistan loses its usefulness, excuse my cynicism, but I can only envisage based on the USA's history on foreign policy that Pakistan will be set up for destruction.

So I ask, why are we still in bed with these snakes? Or have our leaders become such harlots of history that they'll sleep with anyone as long as the price is right?

It's already begun. Just click google news and you won't be able to escape headlines such as "PAKISTANI FAISAL SHAZAD THREAT EMANATED FROM DEEP INSIDE PAKISTAN" and "PAKISTANI CHARGED WITH EXPLOSIVES IN US EMBASSY".

Rupert Murdoch is going to set this up nicely for them.

We are not Iraq or some other nation that is not able to understand the situation and play it out.

We knew before the Soviet pull out, US would cut loose and we prepared for it, we know it now too. Read this and this should tell you everything.

June 1989: Pakistan Disappointed at End of US Aid over Nuclear Weapons Program
Pakistan is disappointed when Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto is told during a visit to Washington that the US will cut off foreign aid to her nation, because of its nuclear weapons program (see June 1989). This new US policy comes about shortly after the withdrawal of the Soviet military from neighboring Afghanistan (see February 15, 1989). A US official will later say: “The Paks understood us better than we understood ourselves… They knew that once the Soviets were whipped in Afghanistan we wouldn’t need them anymore. Would we unilaterally defend Pakistan? Never. Our relationship with Pakistan was to counter the Soviet-Indian relationship. The Pakistanis knew that time was limited. And that’s why they went balls out on the nuclear program.” [NEW YORKER, 3/29/1993]

Also please tone down you insults and pm me if you want to know what we got in return for doing these things.

Also we are not appeasing US, we are dealing with a third party funded terrorism on our soil. It was also us who helped Iran by selling them stinger missiles that fought off the Iraqi jets, we will not be set up for destruction because if that were the reality, late noughties would have done us over.

This is what West ultimately wants.

They were just looking for a reason to blame Pakistan from long and they got one now. SO they will brag about it as much as they can.
Let 'em Bark.

Few days back there was a headline.
A Pakistani terrorist was captured with explosives near US embassy in Chile.

TOday morning Fox news said.

Man accused for bombing US embassy released.

Why don't they state now
Pakistani terrorist accused of bombing US embassy was found innocent and freed by the court

LOL.. its impossible in Pakistan buddy.

Here you can hire a man and ask him to kill his own father, he'll do it the very next moment just for money.

Then how can a Leader stand against such a big power dreaming that this nation will stand by him!!

This is shameful, but afsos this is the truth.
Even if a politician stands against US, CIA is going to hire a bunch of Pakistanis to assassinate him and the game will be over within 5 mins.

That is why all our leaders have to eventually bent down to US.
