New Thunder with 9 Hardpoints

Hi,

I don't know what kind of ITCH that most pakistani kids have for so many hard point on such a small fighter aircraft---and for such a large number of missiles.

@ BVR's was the Perfect number for the JF17---.

In BVR combat---most smaller aircraft may hardly fire one BVR missile in real time before being taken out or bugging out---.

4 BVR's are for show---2 were fine for the JF17.

Its an interesting debate that how many weapons will be ideal load .With thunder the weapon load/dual racks will be used differently for different profile @MastanKhan has rightly pointed out for normal Air defense 2/2 AMRAAM/SIDE WINDERS with three fuel tanks are sufficient .

In SEAD Role

In Precision strike

Runway penetration

Im sure many of us have already seen this picture ,you have to understand the role thunder is going to play so i guess dual racks will be must but weapon load will change according to mission profile , Do i sense a alone thunder ready to take on every challenge thrown at since the profiles suggests that ,lets see indeed a great step done in integration but we will not see more hard points as all 100 examples produced till now cant be upgraded later with additional and Pakistan is looking for platform of similar capacity at least all 150 of same .
Remarkable thing will be addition of IRST/Targeting pod

No @MastanKhan is not right, JFT will be at disadvantage against IAF strike package if it is not utilized to full capacity and number of BVR carrying capability is one of them.

Yes you are right as well but i believe thunder role for dual racks will be more of aggressor rather than defender ,so technically in Pakistan territory or in defensive role the load will be 2 BVRs/2 Side winders for A2A with fuel tanks but in Aggressor role it will gear up to defend and deliver

No, it's not because IAF will send various types of aircrafts in it's strike package which will make number in their favor and most will have BVR missiles so utilization of all available assets to their best is required, with only 2 BVRs & 2 WVRs JFT will possibly got shot down due to no ammo available after launching it's limited ammo.

My bad guys, just got confirmation from my source that they are actually dual racks.

Not needed. Technically, a dual rack can be termed as an extra hard point so you are correct.

JF-17 Block 2 already has almost the same MTOW of the Saab Gripen. Block 3 will most likely exceed the MTOW of the Saab Gripen so dual racks will be in play. This paired with Saab Erieyes and ground stations mean JF-17 can turn off its radar and rely on the Erieye. Deadly combination. The SU-30MKIs will have a hard time tracking them.

The jf17 has been practicing these with both zdks and Erieyes using link 17 and RTDL multiple times with great success. Last time it did this was during shaheen 6.

No air to surface weapon are lot heavier than AAM, YOU DIDN'T INCREASE The weapon carrying capabilities of the jet, its remain same, and not forget sir AAM ARE LOT LIGHTER THAN AIR TO SURFACE MISSILES SIR

Technically, a dual rack can be termed as an extra hard point so you are correct..
