New Thunder with 9 Hardpoints

kya bat hai bhai ! by the way SU 30 has 12 Hard Points ! ;)
do those 12 hard points defend it against air to air missiles, i don't think so...so mentioning them isn't relevant here. it takes only 1 missile to shoot down any jet

It was for someone who mentioned extra two points means 2 Sukhoi down..

Hi punit don’t take it as a pinch of salt 2 hard points are just a addition to whatever jf had previously as 9 points are already there in PaF wt f16
Thank you

That means 126 JF17s + 78 F16s BVR fighters backed with AEW&C and C4 support. A much harder problem for IAF to deal with than the last time things kicked off. Good progress for sure!!
India goes for 3:1 superiority. So, if PAF adds 20 odd fighters each year, IAF needs to add 60 more. And, it's accumulative....

Indians are damn good at arithmetic. My Indian colleagues can do summation, multiplication etc. of large numbers just by uttering them...

No wonder, when the Indian PM wanted a cost/benefit analysis following the Bombay fiasco, IAF gave such a ball par# that no politician can afford...

Last Afgans, Last BD PMs etc. are far more affordable....

Additional hardpoints would require the ribs to be removed and additional higher load bearing ribs to be installed. The additional weight would have some effect on performance but not too much. This also depends of which ribs. So stressing will most probably slow down the work. However the current scenario of dual rack is much better as the original hardpoints was probably design to carry heavier payload so carrying two sd10 or other air to air missiles would probably be no issue. Drag may have to be checked

Conformal fuel tanks would be so the way to go

stress involved is not as complex as you think. every rib is way over designed from its flight envelopes as are the spars. The new hardpoints will be on the JF17 block 3 so inclusion of hard points at manufacture will be easy. in terms of performance the extra weight will have some impact but nothing to cry about

The hardpoints on the JF-17 look attached to the wing rather than slung under it as in J-10 ....possibly due to the fact that J-10 being bigger has more ground clearance.

oh come on ... there no two additional hardpoints, which are fixed on the wing ... these are clearly the same twin launcher as used by the J-10. No need to hype and fabricate anything.
