New Taxes Will Kill Digital TV in Pakistan Before It Becomes Mainstream

.
No, internet is not a luxury but a necessity. Norway even included it in the basic human rights. You can't live without internet in modern world. All pays are paid online, we can talk at no additional cost with our families and friends..
But TV is just for entertainment.
Yes you can. Just because tasks migrated to the internet doesn’t mean people did not survive before it.
You are reading this on a screen, watching youtube and whatnot. The screen was previously represented by CRTs and TV broadcasts.

Just the method to access information changed. Information isn’t a luxury.
A 75 inch 4K may be luxury, TV news and media isnt.

what is the difference between television and internet ? at the core both are mediums for communication

You have online services to pay for. Digital TV will bring them. I want to watch a pakistani cricket match or Premier league matches in HD.

My point is right. You expats don't have to face repercussions like we do so it is easy for you guys to say INCREASE TAXES, CARS ARE A LUXURY, INTERNET IS A LUXURY, BUILD YOUR OWN CAR
I live in Canada, which has some of the highest taxes in the world. We literally get taxed for paying taxes. Our internet prices are also one of the highest in the world, and for shit speeds, same with our phone Bill's; just as an example, I pay my home phone, internet and TV for almost 40,000 PKR a MONTH. I also have to pay almost 50,000 in car insurance a month. Now our government is forcing through a carbon tax, which have skyrocketed gas prices to 162.16 PKR PER LITER, and we produce our own gas!

Don't speak as if we're living a life of luxury, just because we're not living in Pakistan.

Besides, I'm not saying I agree with him, but attacking expats, instead of addressing the points isn't a good way to make an argument, you're just being dismissive.

The situation in both the States and Canada is really bad. The monopolize are air tight, and any new comer tends to get bought out by the big three, before they become a threat.

The only real challenge coming right now is from freedom, which has had to brute force it's way into the market, but spending tens of billions, and giving heavy discounts.

I'm not sure about the states, but I know it's really bad, and probably very similar to Canada.

The Upper middle arrogant class who much on expensive overpriced fast food will think they are richer or more cultured than the diaspora

Sir, kaisi batan karat ho app.
There is no other way for paying the bills now. Most of the banks have closed down their branches here in Sweden.
You have to use the internet.. Now even 75 yrs old people can use internet here ..
I saw a few CRTs in my life ..my father still has one in his garage or store.

Computer are designed as productivity systems since the day one while TVs are content consumption devices though now they also have interactive features but those are mostly limited to content selection & purchase etc but even that's an old concept at least in USA. But even for that TV use internet.

You see it with in all industries in North America especially Tech and media I mean just recently AT&T bought Direct TV,and Time Warner which owns CNN,HBO,Vice,Cartoon Network, TBS,etc and the FCC approve the merger eventhough Trump opposed it during the 2016 elections also Parts of Fox was sold to Disney around the same time as for Tech companies we know Google, and Facebook are buying everything sigh in terms of telecom where I lived Time Warner Cable got gobbled up by Charter Communications which became Spectrum and service is still crap

I could agree but The Internet is more personal and interactive than TV but as more of the global media conglomerates buy out regional and national outlets it wont varry tbh
