As all mirage sqn converts so eventually jf, not sure if paf will raise a new flying Wing there based on new sqn but most probablay re distribution of sqn among existing wings

F16's will be based in Baluchistan as forced by US contract. AWACS need optimized storage so they will not be based far from Islamabad or other major base. There is no need to put AWACS as far as possible cause they will fly 24/7 and need to cover as much as possible enemy airspace...

Nothing to do US in fact as US moved out of this base they left quite a bit facilities and paf learned as well and south needed additional bases to cover as there was a gap between masroor and rafiqui mobs so paf opted to upgrade also I think across the border threat, first MKi based across the border in south and pak national highway closed to border very reason pano Akil was also built in 90/2000

Now bolahri is also providing additional cover

Construction started dec 2015 so 2-3 years at minimum to complete, I would say may be end of 2018 but someone stated end of this year which means next month ??

Also looks like paf has mimicked what US did /left at Shahbaz structures etc and other stuff. The guard towers are about 1/2 mile apart ??

i.e some green / trees looks quite barren outside

Because it's a #ucking desert. They will be lucky enough to have water for regular needs let alone to grow trees.Think before you post. Learn about the Pakistani environment, conditions, resources and priorities before putting up wishful post with irrelevant pictures.

Its the same everywhere.

Even New Islamabad Airport has similar towers.

Even in picture above it seems ground work is under way and changes are visible

Yep need to improve the airbase so it offers necessary improvements around the base where people will be residing

Quite easy to setup a water tower etc as well
