Then the issue is with the weight/configuration of the helicopter and not with the powerplant. A lighter helicopter implies that it has compromised certain areas to compensate for its weight.

Then dontd buy Turkey chopper and go for chinese.

Avionics constitute the entire sensor system - all electronic components.

AESA is a great design philosophy in theory but radar systems vary significantly in performance (and mission-applicability) in reality.

The impression that I have from relevant contacts is that F-16 Block 52+ are the most capable aircraft in the inventory of PAF so far. These will be pitted against SU-30 MKI in potential engagements, God forbid.

We are definitely trying to retrofit JF-17 Thunder Block III with new stuff but I would reserve my judgement until the end-product establish itself.
I agree that avionics is a much bigger term but radar is the heart of avionic system ... and again you are comparing f16s block 52 with thunder block2,,, My comparison was with block 3 and to identify the rapid pace at which Chinese defense industry is growing is phenomenal ... thunder was the first indigenous design just 2 decades earlier and now they are making one of the most sophisticated defense types of equipment... Thunder started as a low tire aircraft as a replacement of low-end fighters but the way Chinese were able to develop and integrate new technology, we are able to compare it with F16 and in case of block 3 it will surpass F16 in some of the areas especially radar, pods and anti-ship missiles such as CM400 AKG ...

Regarding F16 vs Su30 MKI, these are just rumors and on paper comparisons, but in a real fight it is not about on paper comparisons, AIM120 or AIM9 are no way less capable than anything su30 mki can throw ...

Yes, MKIs can carry much bigger payload, it has much a higher loiter time, it has TVC but we are not talking about strike missions where a bomb truck is required, offcourse India has much better firepower when it comes to strike mission but if you are having air to air engagements F16,s radar is at par with MKI if not superior ... Huge RCS of MKI makes it comparatively easy target to acquire and engage which is a huge disadvantage ...

New Z-10ME,modified according to the requirements of Pakistan Army Aviation, according to Aviation Pilots Pak Army Aviation is really impressed with these modifications and most likely this variant will be inducted, on the other hand there are chances that the AH-1Z viper deal gets blocked thus Z-10ME would be acquired instead.
Pictures not mine !!!

Still not good enough to justify Pakistan requirements & conditions. We have refused it once again despite of Chinese excitement......

@Oscar @wanglaokan I might have missed it, but did CAIC or AVIC showcase a millimeter-wave radar with the Z-10ME? Seeing that the T129 is handling high-altitude ops, I imagine the Z-10ME should be fine for anti-armour & anti-infantry ops as-is, but a MMW radar would be key.

I suspect if the AH-1Z deal falls through completely, then the 'heavy' attack helicopter requirement would have to be pushed by at least 3-5 years (for funding room). In that case, the Z-10ME (albeit an improved version for the time) would compete with the ATAK-2, the new Italian-Polish AW249 and China's own new heavyweight attack helicopter.

For me the dark horse would be putting a little bit into the Rooivalk Mk2 right now and then moving to that in 3-5 years when it's ready for production.

There is NO Rooivalk Mk2, not now and not ever. PA options are either a further derivative of the Z-10ME with a Mast mounted millimeter-wave radar, or the T129.

The problem with the AH-1Z deal is that its in limbo due to payment issues. The Z-10 still needs to overcome hot and high operational needs for it to be a liable bird.
The T-129 too is stuck in engine clearance and payment cycles leaving the PA without an attack asset for a while.

maybe they will send Z10ME to Pakistan?
