Sorry just because it is not on the list does not mean you can use that sort of language here. Why could you not say Chinese, or Member, or use his username?

Once again, Chin is a word representing Chin/Qin dynasty to which all the Hans associate themselves to.. If you think it is derogatory then you are insulting all the Hans.

You accused me of throwing racial slur I just wanted to prove that I never did. So stop the habit of blindly accusing people of something based on your half baked knowledge and there will be no arguments.

I can understand where @gambit comes from, since growing up in the west has certainly made me hate outside interference. HOWEVER, he forgets the west has this law that you can't beat your kid.

I know you are going to say kids are different and I agree. BUT, the worst offense you can commit in a Chinese society is ungrateful behavior to a parent.

Chinese society thinks very differently from Americans, while we would argue not beating your kids would in fact not set them in the right path, while you guys would not agree, and you would probably have reasons for it. But while arguing this law in China, we can also provide as many responses as to why this is not strange.

People need to realize, though we drink wine, drive BMWs, live in houses and apartments, wear Prada, we are still very much Chinese and not American. You cannot judge us the same as you same as you to us.

The common example is living with parents is common and sometimes even bad if you don't but in the West, you are a mental patient.

These Indians are obsess with Chinese people. For whatever reason, they decide to use racial attacks to compensate for their own insecurities.

Laws are created to regulate offenders
This law is created for the same purpose
The problem is to deal with an accute deterioation in the Chinese society that the care to parents are given way to the children's other priorities like works and play etc. It is a shame that a natural responsibility of the children towards their parents have to be enforced by law. But who is to blame? The filial bondage is gradually broken by dominance of other values.
I hope the Government has taken adequate analysis and evaluations before the law is enacted. If the studies have proven the weight of the deterioation is severe then it is a good law because not only it requires the children to observe it but also it regulates third parties like employers to give due respect to the workers' family needs as well.

Actually if we did away with stupid things like blasphemy laws, strengthen women rights and ensured the protection of minorities we would be a pretty decent community. But then again which nation is without flaws, show me one?

I think a lack of respect for your family comes from the growing influence of materialistic lifestyles, we replace what is valuable with inanimate objects... This is also true for Pakistan, when i was a child we would sit and play Caram or Ludo, then everyone would sit huddled together when the cartoons or Ainak Wala Jinn would come on TV, or if we were lucky little wonder would be playing on STN.

Now when i go to gatherings, everyone has their heads ducked down into their smartphone/crackberry etc... They still talk and socialize, but that certain warmth of a bethak (Gathering), that has started to fade.

bro pakistani culture is the best, women are the bosses of houses already and all pakistanis know that lol.
the only problem i think is that this honor killing crap, and even that is decreasing by tons.
everybody is respectful to each other even people we dont like ect.
we take good care of our guests ect, look out for poor people, talk to everybody in a very respectful way( tusi instead of tu ect)
