New Anti army laws to be passed by NA

Brother, what did he actually do that made Pakistan boom and bust by 1971.

One of the things this power hungry tyrant can be blamed for is that he wasted all the high tech weaponry by 1965 on India which the US had provided for defence of Pakistan against the Soviet Union.

You can keep being wistful about the past. It pays no dividends. War is about gambits. You take risks. That risks also showed us who stands with us or against us.

Seriously, people find it just convenient to pile up blame on the military. Here is the thing: all these cockroaches such as Nawaz Sharif, Altaf etc. which you call 'military's produce', if they military continued to be in power, it would deal with them all and keep them in check. Our problem is that the people of this country are illiterate and easily fooled by devious politicians. They don't know how to agitate for their rights. They have turned into zombies going about their business, completely oblivious to their surroundings. And the so called 'civil society' that was so active in Musharraf's demise, it is in their vested interests to let the country go to dust so that we will have to go begging in front of IMF and then become completely dependent on America who will advance its secular ideals, destroy the nuclear program, and force friendliness with India. Its what these liberals want and so they are criminally silent. As a matter of fact, they are right there with Nawaz Sharif.

You have a problem with being completely focused on military. I am telling you, if the people of this nation combine together and agree to work diligently under military rule, we have the potential to reach the moon. Democracy is just one more system. Elevating it to the level of religion is idioticity of the highest level. So keep following corrupt, ineligible, and inept people as your leaders and let them lead you straight into the abyss. Your loss.

If you consider ordinary Pakistanis to be "corrupt, ineligible, and inept people" why would you expect Pakistanis in uniform to be any different? Aren't you elevating military rule to the level of religion?

There is a slight catch. The military needs Pakistan for its very existence. Without an independent Pakistan, there will be no powerful military. There is a cohesion of interests here: strong Pakistan = strong military. There is a conflict of interests with corrupt politicians: weak Pakistan = strong financial terrorists who want to be told to 'do more', given more aid and loans and divert much of it into their own accounts leaving the country poorer.

.
Military take over is required.

That's what they want, to become siyasi shaheed. The Noon league propaganda machinery is one hell of a machine and expect some further provocations by them to drag army into politics.
Good thing is that the army has shown no signs of unease about it so far, which is even frustrating the Noon league.

The military existed before Pakistan was independent as part of the British India Army.

Militaries don't need countries; they are parasitic by nature so they just need a host.

Wrong. There is symbioses between PA and Pakistan.

. . .
There were over 120 countries who were neutral during Cold War which were members of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) established in 1961.

And, Prime Minister Liaqual Ali Khan refused American help and alignment with anyone hence he was removed (by the military).

There was no social development under Ayub Khan, only protests and riots that lead to the breakup of Pakistan. He even accused Fatima Jinnah of being an Indian Agent. What a pathetic man.

Like I said earlier, the public animosity against him was so great he felt the need to write his autobiography 'Friends not Masters' to explain why Pakistan was better off being an American Poodle. You can buy it from Amazon and read his sob story if you like.
And tell me which major country was not aligned ? Name one ?

Liaquat Ali Khan opted to visit USA first despite of having invitation from USSR ... Now you are saying the army killed Liaquat Ali Khan ... Man you are really insane,

Whatever, infrastructure developments, od electricity, gas, water, dams and double railway line of Sindh all was done during AYub era,,,

Our growth rate was close to 10% ... You are making base less claim ...

We don't hate democracy, we just hate its current faces, which are corrupt at their core..

:enjoy:
You don't hate democracy but you can't accept it completely because a true democracy at its core functions on the basis of total secularism.
You can't have a state religion and full secular democratic setup at the same time.
So there will always be a huge conflict of ideology when democracy is put forth in Pakistan.
This conundrum is difficult to solve.

If democracy is the part of secularism, than you can keep it in your bharat matta..

But on brighter note: we hate corruption.

I really hope these bills get passed, the army has sat by and watched Zardari and Sharif tear this country to bits, letting this drama of democracy play out. There is one thing they are guarunteed to preserve - themselves. This will be the straw that breaks the camels back and have the men in khaki kicking Ganja and Co out permanently.

.
Get khaqan to dissolve Parliament in supreme national interest with assurance that he will be looked after.
Or
Convince judiciary, if possible to make newly passed laws unconstitutional.

Otherwise, I am afraid that military is being pushed to a stage that they may have to take over or do some aggressive manuevering to topple the government

Why do Pakistani's hate democracy so much?

We live in a country where only 60% are literate and only a quater of the population finish high school.
We live in a country where the majority live under the influence of fuedal lords and tribal elders.

These existing powerful people, coerce the uneducated masses into voting their representatives into power. These representatives then use public funds to fill their own pockets, the pockets of their backers and to ensure the average man is not able to become economically independent and able to be free of the elite. This is a sham of democracy.

You don't understand the extent of it. In some parts of punjab/Sindh millions of people live on lands owned by the fuedals. They farm those lands and are paid in grain. These people don't have access to even cash. If they want to bury someone who died, they wait for permission from the fuedal lord, because the grave will be dug on his land.
In the tribal parts of our society it's not much different. People live and die by the order of the tribal leaders, those who don't agree are killed or exiled from thier family homes!

Even in Urban Pakistan the elite have a hold. The private sector is not allowed to grow, not unless companies are kicking back to politicians. SME's have to pay bribes to get access to electricity and sewage! If you want a government job you pay bribes to politicians to get referals and then bribes to the recruiters to get selected.

This is our democracy.
