Pakistanis should not be fooled: RFS_BR knows perfectly well that the Palestine Mandate encouraged "close settlement" of Palestine by Jews, either on state land or by purchase from the inhabitants, and that's what the Jews did.
Pakistanis should not be fooled by Solomon2. He knows perfectly well of Israel'sd record of theft and that it isn't limited to the pre-1948 settlements - it continues down to this day. And even if we refrain from commenting on modern land theft, even if we limit discussion to 1948, it can be demonstrated that Solomon2 is not conducting his argument in good faith.
By the time Israel got UNGA support for its creation, Jews had bought less than 7% of all historic Palestinian land. Don't take my word for it - take
that of Jewish-American scholar Sheldon Richman:
In November 1947 the UN General Assembly voted overwhelmingly to recommend partition of Palestine into Arab and Jewish states. The two states were to be joined in an economic union, and Jerusalem would be administered by the United Nations. The Arabs would get 43 percent of the land, the Jews 57 percent. The proposed apportionment should be assessed in light of the following facts: The Jewish portion was better land; by the end of 1947 the percentage of Palestine purchased by Jews was less than 7 percent; Jewish land purchases accounted for only 10 percent of the proposed Jewish state; and Jews made up less than one-third of the population of Palestine.(48) Moreover, the Jewish state was to include 497,000 Arabs, who would constitute just under 50 percent of the new state's population.
The Jewish share of the land expanded exclusively through the expulsion of the original population -- not Jews but Palestinian Muslims and Christians. And in fact, not even the lands belonging to the Palestinians who kept still, who resisted expulsion and are now called "Israeli Arabs" in the West, were spared from the theft mania of the Jewish occupiers. They, too, have been losing lands to their Jewish "countrymen" - some 75%, in fact. Certain sects of the Arab population have lost more. According to
Haaretz, the Druze have had 90% of their lands stolen by the Jewish state. And mind you, the Druze are the "good Arabs" for the Zionists - the ones whom they love to parade around as proof of Zionism's tolerance, of Israel's "good treatment" of its non-Jewish minorities.
As a result of this unrestrained theft, undoubtedly inspired by racism against non-Jews, up to +70% of Israel's lands have been acquired through theft, according to Richard Falk, the UN representative for Palestine, and himself as Jewish a person as Solomon2. It's pure sophistry to put Israel's expansion down to land purchases when we know this represented but a tiny fraction of historic Palestine's territory, as Solomon has been trying to.
And spare me of the tales that "the Arabs attacked first!!!!".
It's widely known that Arab armies never set foot in the land the UNGA established as belonging to the Jewish state -- they only stationed their troops on UN-defined Palestinian soil. Israel had no excuse to expand its borders, expel the people and steal even more land.
And don't even get me started on the theft currently in place in the West Bank. Many threads have been made on this subject - I've even tried to highlight one of the most outrageous instances of such theft to user Solomon (
and he refused to comment).
