What's new

Nehru and Savarkar

.
So, the Congees beat their chests about how their Chacha was a freedom fighter and all that..

Just want to compare what the Chacha Feku Nehru went through comparing to what Savarkar went through.

Question is, why were British so "kind" to Chacha Feku when they were tormenting other patriots like Savarkar in most inhumane way?

. .
Maybe he was poor and couldn't pay to corrupt police?

Maybe he was poor and couldn't pay to corrupt police?

Please. Don't feed the trolls.

It was not poverty; it was the level of knowledge about their respective roles. Although Nehru had Harrow, Trinity College and the Inner Temple on his resume, Savarkar was very well educated himself, graduating from Fergusson College and then eating his dinners at Gray's Inn, and wrote well. It is just that he never had the privileges of social standing, and was never in a leadership role within the Congress. As a result, he got the treatment, sordid and harsh as it was, that other soldiers in the independence got. Not pleasant, but not a distinction, and not a plausible reason for ennobling the non-existent role of the religious right; this was the exception that proves the rule.

**SIGH**

Only trolls discuss people, rather than the topic.

I leave it to others to judge who is the one trolling and who is trying to discuss and educate.

Just because my topics does not fit in with the "cool secular" crowd, does not make my topics any less valuable.
One can ask the context though. Well, unless you are firmly couped up in your secular hell hole, you must know our resident janeudhari Brahman took a pot shot at Savarkar just yesterday - hence the topic of discussion.

The logic that Savarkar was not in leadership position in Congress, hence his harsh incarceration only points to the obvious fact - That Congress was completely compromised by British under Chacha and Gandhi.

That is the funny part. The courts could not find Veer Savarkar Guilty of anything. They could not prove his guilt in Any crime whatsoever.

Even his arrested was Illegal. He escaped from his ship and swam to France, but the british followed him and illegally arrested him in france and illegally forced him back into the ship. France protested his invasion and the case went to Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague where british used political pressure to get a favourable judgement even though, legally France was right.

Which is why they had to exile him and could not jail him in India. You see the law did not permit them to Jail and innocent man. So they "exiled" him to the equivalent of Guantanamo Bay of the past. What we call Andaman Island. (In fact the US govt. got the idea for Guantanamo Bay from the British)

Back the it was called "transportation for life". A mild sounding name that basically meant he was going to be enslaved in a dungeon on a god forsaken island where there was no law except what the tyranical warden said was law. It was so horrific that the place was called "Kala pani" , a place where even the water was black.

Torture and flogging were frequently resorted to on iron triangular frame, bar fetters, crossbar fetters and neck ring shackle, leg iron chains and gunny bag uniforms, unhygienic diet.

"punishment" included ‘standing handcuffs’: i.e. for seven days, prisoners were hung by his wrists from a peg hammered into the wall.

Torture using electricity and shock was common.

The tortures were so horrific that suicides were common.

On arrival, Savark was immediately put in solitary confinement for 6 months.

After that he was categorized as class 3C’ prisoners (dangerous political prisoner) which basically meant he had to get up at 6 am, and was yolked to the oil mill and had to work till they had extracted 30 pounds of mustard oil.

If anyone got ill, the medical officer would declare them "Fit for flogging".

If they failed to produce that much oil before nightfall , they would be "punished" i.e. tortured. Punishments for failing to do so ranged from caning to being put in iron fetters and hanging from the walls.

Jail records show that Savarkar was given a total of eight punishments separately which included standing handcuffs for seven days and four-month relegation to the ‘chain gang’ (prisoners with neck-ring shackles and cross-bar iron fetters who were forced to do hard labour).

He was put in a jail which faced the gallows from where he got to see multiple Hangings of Indian political prisoners which took place every month.

NO CELL in the cellular jail had Toilet Facility, so the prisoners had to piss and $hit in the jail and live and sleep in the muck.

Hindu prisoners had Muslim wardens assigned to them. Savarkar's warden was a Muslim man called Gulmir and he was the most hated man in cellular. Even more than the british.

Warden Gulmir took pride in torturing hindu prisoners and making them lick his spit or his shoes. He took pleasure in torturing Hindus for any petty reason and the only way you could escape the torture was to "convert".But records will show that not a single Hindu prisoner in Cellular jail ever converted to islam.

Its easy to understand that why after coming out of Prison, Savarkar distrusted the muslims and wanted India to be free of muslims. Ironically Savarkar was an Atheist.

Savarker was in this HELL HOLE for almost 11 Years.

Compared to this, Nehru and Gandhi had a picnic during the british raj for being such model political activists.

CONgress has successfully managed to brainwash the Indians about the "sacrifice" of Nehru and make everybody forget the ugly reality of Guantanamo Bay of India.

Hey Hey...don't you go 'trolling' now. You are making the Secular grannys here uncomfortable by placing the facts.

We all must shut up and believe the secular Ganny's version that Chacha & Bapu got us freedom by sipping chai in their 5 star jails.

After all, what do we know..... right? :D

Compared to this, Nehru and Gandhi had a picnic during the british raj for being such model political activists.

Well, Gandhi the pacifist who did not want Indians to lift a finger on British, had no problems sending Indian kids to fight and die defending British motherland.

Quid Pro Quo anyone?
Gandhi & his Chacha chela get's to sip tea in 5 star jails.
Indian kids fight for British in Europe and die in thousands.
Congress shoved a pinkie in collective Indian bottoms into thinking Chacha and Bapu got us freedom.

Oh dear, I am sure I will trigger some secular Granny's today :D

That's a milder version of what happened to Savarkar.

Wonder if anything similar happened to Gandhi or Nehru, the furious "freedom fighters" who the British feared soooo mucho_O

.
Sarkar wrote an apology letter to British and promised not to engage to political activities against British. So Sarkar was released.

That's a milder version of what happened to Savarkar.

o_O

You are showing a scene from a movie. That is not history. That is not factual. That is fiction.

.
Makes me wonder what would have happened to Gandhi or Nehru if they were ever put under such conditions.

How long they would survive before sucking up to the British ? maybe 1 week ? 1 month ? 1 year ?

LOL..
Yes, movie Gandhi was also a movie which shows Gandhi getting shot. Was that also fiction?

Savarkar was on such friendly terms with British that put him in Kalapani for 11 years. yes sir, they were friends with Savarkar hence they jailed him in the most inhumane place WHERE AS they were so terrified of Chacha and Bapu that they were never really "jailed".

Freeze at 15 seconds. That was Savarkar's world for 11 years.

History as they say is written by winners. Unfortunately for India, the frauds are claiming they got independence for us when they did nothing but subvert our freedom movement.

The Gandhi chamchas would rather Savarkar lived in that inhumane conditions for 50 years I suppose, after all, for them it's always the agenda that matters.

Btw, even after release British monitored Savarkar and did not allow to travel free. YES SIR, British was friends with Savarkar where as Chacha and Bapu were free to travel anywhere and spread their non-violence movement.

btw, what was the setting between non-violent Gandhi who did not want Indians to lift a finger on his Gora friends & the British? Why did this fraud agree to send our boys to fight for British in WW2?
Anyone dare to answer? o_O

These 2 clowns had a sofa in their 5 star jail cells.
Such inhumane treatment from British :D

yet, it is Savarkar who was put in kalapani for 11 years that colluded with British

That was the ONLY way Savarkar could get out and do more for the Nation.

Even then the british knew how much Savarkar hated the british.

Which is why if you ever see Savarkar's pictures, you will always find a British police man always with him, watching his every move.

You will never see such police men tracking and following Nehru and Gandhi.

Notice the Intimidating Cop in the pictures, standing behind Savarkar at all times ?

Even then Savarkar encouraged Indians to join the British army during World war 2 so that they get trained in the use of Guns and get experienced in war and when the war was over, use the skill to free India.

and guess what ? That is exactly what happened and that is what got us our freedom.

This is Netaji Subash Chandra Bose seeking out and meeting Savarkar.

You can imagine what they would have discussed.

.
That was the ONLY way Savarkar could get out and do more for the Nation.

British offered him the same deal they gave Gandhi and Chacha BUT Savarkar spit in their faces.

I guess we Indians should forget the facts staring at us where a man who underwent inhumane treatment for 11 years must be destroyed so that we can prop up a sham family.

I don't think so.

British were smart enough never to offer any "deal" to a dangerous man like Veer Savarkar.

Can you provide details ?

It's more from the unconfirmed sources who were with him in Kalapani at that time.
read it somewhere, will try to search for it.

To all, read the wonderful book written by Savarkar which got him jailed to understand why it got him jailed.

https://jambudveep.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/veer-savarkar-1857.pdf

British were so terrified of Savarkar that they gave him 50 years jail term.

Contrast that to the incredible love they had for chacha & Bapu.
Who was the real revolutionary that terrified the British? Was it Chacha & Bapu or was it Savarkar?

ASK your common sense.

Read the below excerpt........

Savarkar's ideological self always had two axes: along one he worshipped modern scientific rationality and Machiavellianism, along the other he used European romanticism to empower his ideas of nationalism and revolution. His ethics probably came from the latter. The Cellular jail crippled the romanticism, so that it now survived mainly as a rhetoric that allowed him to give fuller play to his amoral, reason-driven, Machiavellian self as a technology of survival. Contrary to the impression he gives in his autobiographical writings, within a year of his arrival at Andamans he began to write abject appeals to the authorities, seeking clemency and promising loyalty, obedience and good behaviour.

Savarkar's admirers claim that the mercy petitions and the undertakings he signed so readily were strategic; he wanted to be released to participate in the freedom movement. It is true that the British never fully trusted his petitions and his relationship with the colonial regime did not automatically become cosy immediately afterwards, as some of his detractors insinuate. It is also true that some degree of manipulative cunning was part of Savarkar's repertoire. Filing of such petitions by political prisoners, too, was not rare. But it is also true that the authorities trusted him enough to appoint him a foreman in the jail and Savarkar never again played any significant or insignificant part in the anti-imperialist struggle.

Savarkar's petitions paid dividends nonetheless; the colonial authorities probably had a more rounded understanding of his personality than his Indian admirers and detractors. He was considered harmless and released in 1921 at the age of 38. But the authorities did not take any chance either. After his return from Andaman in 1921, he was kept in Ratnagiri jail for three years. The ghosts of Andamans still haunted him and this new sentence was probably the last straw. The colonial system was more efficient than it itself thought; Savarkar had returned from Andamans a shadow of his old self and the three additional years in jail, too, had done their job. When released in 1924, “at forty one he looked sixty and resembled a lean and hungry hawk, with bitter mouth and eyes that looked hooded.”
