Yes indeed. You mean Asian crisis in 1997?
I believe the crisis wasn't caused by USA rather a hard landing after the bubble burstYes indeed.
To what shining research do you owe these golden words. Corrupt is corrupt. Period.Corrupt politicians are 100% better than corrupt generals.
They created an artificial dearth of dollar which was then the only foreign exchange reserves currency and the world has now diversified a lot. Their first target was the weakest and most dependent on them, Thailand famous for their corruption. However the US hitman pulled the dollar from the market and Thailand was almost bankrupt and unable to pay loans and it was spreading to the whole region. Malaysia had hidden reserves of around 200 billion usd and they used that money to support the whole region. These reserves were not in the knowledge of those hitman.I believe the crisis wasn't caused by USA rather a hard landing after the bubble burst
you do realize the reason why they have assets outside of Pakistan in the first place is not once but twice their properties and other assets were ceased by the the then people in power. Once by Mr. Bhutto by a questionable act and second time by an illegal dictator himself.Legal is a word we throw around, including our PM way too much without realizing whats its meaning. To him, his business of tax evasion is also legal, not so much for most others. A person who's own kids have confirmed how much he can lie is asking others to come invest in Pakistan but himself wouldn't bother to do the same with that stolen wealth and hijack public TV (PTV) for a poor show of innocence while denying others the right to use it does need to be kicked off the throne, yes.
And this is not an opportunity but a loop hole in Pakistan's throne politics where laws are different for elected officials vs ordinary citizens that needs to be fixed.
That is where why people who know better should atleast try to make things better and change. Atleast let them know it can get better. Recall where was Karachi and Pakistan two three years back. Almost monthly political useless meets. Killer themselves were presiding over these meetings to stop killings! What rubbish! FATA was bleeding our forces. Bomb blasts a daily routine. What changed? A powerful man decided enough is enough, was it constitutional? No, was it a legal act to pressurise a sitting Gov? No. Laws were forcefully put in place, killers apprehended ,encountered, hanged and now you see change. The law of necessity is not at fault, the question is whose necessity?
Judiciary or Army or combined, till the day a common Pakistani becomes the true decider of a government's fate, should make life hell for Govs if they do not deliver on governance and accountability. Only then will politics stop being a profitable business and a serious affair. We need to make it as unappealing to the usual scumbags who treat politics as means to an end. This institutional friction and overlap is actually what will keep the process going on.
I will consider myself lucky if I can come back to Pakistan and perform my role. Hopefully oneday.
The PM can not use the civil servants as shields and the police as his private force nor is Pakistan his fiefdom. What is important is that the army should not interfere, but also the police and civil system not work as a tool for the PM,So what's stopping you from going back? What you have said above are the same tired old excuses to cover illegal usurpation of power by the military. Let us never forget that even if the military takes over, it fails miserably in a few years and has to give up power to the rightfully elected representatives of the people. NS is the elected PM, and he can and should be removed only by due process, not by trumped up so-called "necessity".

How would YOU feel if the the gov't tomorrow ceased everything you owned and outlawed and banished you from the land? would you not try to build your nest on some other land? Would you be held accountable for any taxes to your former land?
The question of the Panama issue isnt of a legal nature but of a moral one. Should as the Prime Minister, Nawaz Shareef or his family member own properties abroad? and to that moral question the answer is above. However, I do feel that if Nawaz Shareef is serious about bringing foreign investment into Pakistan then before going to others he must start with his own family and convince them to move their investments back to Pakistan.
He is already using national treasury to spread lies about opposition. I expect worse. The PM can not use the civil servants as shields and the police as his private force nor is Pakistan his fiefdom. due process works when the system works, and to make the system work he needs to let it work... so yea, it depends on his actions what he brings upon himselfThen remove him by due process, not by illegal means, if he is guilty of what you think.
Was he elected by due process? Then remove him by due process, not by illegal means, if he is guilty of what you think.
Martial law but why? PM must answer for his crimes or leavedue process works when the system works, and to make the system work he needs to let it work... so yea, it depends on his actions what he brings upon himself
whether it is him answering to the courts how his son become a multimillionaire when he was 14 or whether he squashes it and the people come on the streets and martial law comes
How are products of clean chit NRO rightfully elected representatives? So what's stopping you from going back? Dont u think NS has any moral obligation to tell the truth and accept his kids accept it .A democratic govt works with Moral power not power of gun he lost it plus he is digging hole further and further with running slander campian againest his political opponents not gonna work .The PM can not use the civil servants as shields and the police as his private force nor is Pakistan his fiefdom. What is important is that the army should not interfere, but also the police and civil system not work as a tool for the PM,
This wont go long for sure it gonna sum up very quick reason is our Geo politics plus regional situation .Wait for another Gen r Mahmood Durrani to give a massge to our cornered PM to step aside .He is already using national treasury to spread lies about opposition. I expect worse.
