Democracy Can Never Eradicate Political Corruption in Pakistan

Dictatorship / Autocracy come with their own problems, freedom being one of them. Democracy is the only solution but not in its current form. These are the current problems

1. We have 3 houses of law-makers, Provincial, National, Senate. That is almost 1200 law-makers. This is such a waste of limited resources.
2. Due to the current system, alot of compromises have to be made in order to run the govt and smaller parties with not much vote-bank end up spoiling/hindering the govt from achieving its objectives.
3. People with no relevant experience or knowledge in the field could become the minister.

I have proposed this previously as well but i will just summarize it below

1. The Leader of the Country/Province needs to be directly elected.
2. He would then choose his cabinet of ministers based on merit.
3. The Ministers would then choose their team for each dept.
4. The country only needs 1 house for law-making.
5. Administrative branch should be separate from the legislative branch.

So many flaws in your suggestion, I ll try to answer one by one

1)Direct elections make no difference ( we actually have this system already, voting for PTI means IK, voting for PPP means Zardari or Bilawal and voting for PMLn means NS as PM)

2) Current system is not stopping them from doing so

3) Same as above

4) If we have one house for law making, the provinces with majority will get everything done while smaller provinces will suffer. Purpose of Senate is to have equal representation.

5)That already exists.

You didn't understand my point.

1. Directly elected means, what ever party wins makes govt, doesn't need smaller parties to form govt.
2. Current system only allows for elected MNA/MPA/Senators to become Ministers.
4. Please tell me what laws have the provincial govts made that have been amazing for one province but would have been detrimental for the other provinces? The Law should be the same for everyone. Everyone having their own laws breeds chaos and inflames disunity.

One Line Solution

Every governance system is workable and world following the same laws and methods, problem is

You don't have loyal person in your governance cart.

Yes every system is workable, but in the modern world thats constantly evolving, people strive for efficiency and cost-effectiveness . The current system in place in Pakistan is not producing the results needed, so it needs to be discarded and replaced with one that best fits the requirement of our country.

There are only a very few political systems that exist in the world, Capitalism which has failed and continues to fail the world, communism or socialism which has also failed and Islam.

Unfortunately the later i.e. Islam has not been understood well by Muslims today even though the islamic system governed us for over 1400 years.

I urge people to gain knowledge of the Islamic political system and you may even be surprised on how it solves problems from political, social and economical.

Hey Chakar,

I disagree with you, all countries that have democracy have corruption and if you read and watch the the news its not hard to tell with the ongoing scandals in America and UK. Democracy is a farce that was created to delude the masses in thinking they are the ones making the choices but rather its always thr big corporations and businesses that have the end say on which policies get legislated on.
All countries that dont have democracy have tight control on the news you hear from them.

Corruption is a mental illness, not the fault of some social creation or type of government. It needs to be treated as a mental illness and eradicated.

Only sharia Democratic system can do the job for Pakistan.

Caliphates
let us directly start with Caliphates, God does not like fighting between two nominee of Caliphate rather suggest the debates (Salah-o-Mashwarh) about the sharia system's economy, funding etc but not about the sect infront of audience at any platform (mimber of mosque, TV channel, stage etc). A caliph can be from any sect of Muslims (those believe on God and believe on Muhammad P.B.U.H as last messenger of God) but only on one condition that he/she should be well educated according to Islamic economical, strategical System, and should have well knowledge of people needs and crises with his own vision and solutions. if one of nominee Caliph get success to inspire other nominee then the problem solve, otherwise they should go through the voting system by the (Shura) audience (audience should be muttaqi (obeyer of principles) no matter if they belong to different sects). the righteous sect will be decided by God on the day of judgment not by you and me in this world.
Islam also allows Non-Muslims as a policy makers. But not as a leader because Non-Muslims cant understand the sharia democratic system until they don't study about Islam. And if non-Muslim study about Islamic economy, funding, sharing etc i bet you non-muslim will accept islam that's why non-muslim cant implement sharia Democratic system, but at same time they are allowed to participate in a system so you can have brilliant, visionary non-muslims in Govt.

The way of following toward Sharia democratic System.

there is not any website who conducted a genuine comparative study of Current Democratic and sharia democratic system. the study conducted either by European Christians(those don't fully understand Islam) or either by stupid madrassas Mullahs (those seek the benefits for themselves and excluded the rights of woman, Non-Muslims in Islam, and described whatever suits to extremist Mulla'a Group & co in every sects of islam). basically those narrow minded Mullahs are the biggest reason, they are not willing to understand the basic point of Islam that in Islam the enforcement cant be allowed to implement the sharia from the beginning. i.e.. people used to throw the stones on Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H when P.B.U.H started the preaching of Islam in a peaceful manner and he never forced any one to accept Islam, he only used the force in order to retaliate against the haters of sharia system against occupier/atrocities. so therefore it is called "take over by force", force of law in European or any other country, just because of those pathetic narrow minded so called Islamic mullahs. and the people like you and me are not allowed to publish religious book in almost all Islamic countries without their permission you have to have certificates otherwise you will get sanctioned with the label of kuffar.

There are few Islamic personalities those can tell us the prefect system.

1. Dr. Zakir Naik for preaching, research, according to sharia.
2. Dr. Tahir ul Qadri for legislation, laws in sharia.
3. Imran N. Hosein for economic system, world politics, and modern socio-economic/political issues in sharia.
4. Late Dr. Israr Ahmed Guidelines to understand the way of forward to sharia.

Here starts this conversation again!

Musharraf had the best opportunity. But he was morally corrupt. He could have screwed Sharif and Zardari. But he developed his own political ambitions and these two bastards NRO. The NRO emboldened these crooks to the point where they though they had full immunity.

Even if there is a ruthless ruler, the court system in Pakistan is such that these powerful crooks will still get away. just look at how Shehbaz Sharif got out of jail and off to London!

To kick this corruption, the process will have to be gradual. These corrupt politicians are very strong. They have thier people in judiciary, press and bureaucracy. Even upright and honest Imran Khan is having a tough challenge getting hold of these crooks. So being tough and honest is not enough.

I dont have time to read the whole article.

But let me tell you that democracy has been polluted in Pakistan by frequent military dictatorships. Most developed countries in the world have democracies yet no corruption. So this article is a futile attempt to blame democracy for the wrong doings of military dictatorship and Pakistani society in general.

Don’t want to bring back Khilafat?

Only new political system can fix things but it’s catch 22 for Pakistan.
