Nawaz shareef hints at Army behind protest

Let us see how the present imbroglio pans out. It won't take much longer now.

By what legal authority is the Army "mediating" in politics, Sir?

Whose Constitutional head of Army? On the orders of their constitutional head, Army is mediating in politics

But there is no legal justification for the Army to meddle in political affairs, is there? Any orders by the COAS to this effect are null and void, and properly deserve to be prosecuted for being unconstitutional and a violation of his oath.

But COAS takes his order from Prime minister and President. It's in his oath to obey their orders, isn't it ?

. . .
It's legal duty of army to keep peace entact by any means necessary as mentioned in article 245.

Nope. The Army must follow specific orders of civil authority and nothing more (certainly not by "any means necessary"), and only if invoked by law under said Article, such as the recent deployment to maintain security of the Red Zone. There is no legal order possible under Article 245 to permit meddling in political affairs even if it is signed, which has not even happened.

Which is what army is doing, mediating is one of many specific orders of civil authority

No Sir. Please read the Article 245 for yourself, and then read the specific order about the recent invocation. Try as you might, there is simply NO legal way for the Army to meddle in politics. None whatsoever.

Army can't refuse orders from civilian authority in this delicate situation. Civilian authority wants Peace, It's there headache if it's legal or illegal to involve army, Army is doing what it is designed to do. Follow orders

What orders are you talking about precisely Sir? There is no such order possible that justifies what the Army is doing - meddling in political affairs in violation of the Constitution.

Do you seriously think PM and President of Pakistan would publically order army to help diffuse situation by mediating with opposing groups ? Orders are along the lines of holding opposing groups on not marching inside buildings, acting as Peace guarantor b/w them.

CM Punjab and Interior Minister Nisar visits to GHQ is an ample example that civilian government is involving army in this perilous situation not the other way around.

It is a thoroughly disingenuous and intellectually dishonest jump from "maintain law and order in the Red Zone" to "mediate between political rivals", and one that will remain absolutely unconstitutional despite any attempts to justify it as you are unsuccessfully. There are no orders to act as "peace guarantors" either, of that I am quite sure, and even if there were, to follow them is not possible for the COAS as they are unconstitutional too.

People have been saying "not much longer" since the beginning of the protests, I'm still waiting.

There doesn't need to be a legal authority to offer mediation, the judiciary could do it; like wise, another group could do it.

Time is only relative in this process. And that's right. There is no legality in the Army's meddling in politics.

No matter what you say, Army is following orders and maintaining peace. Nothing more, nothing less. It's your biasness which is preventing you to accept the reality and to achieve process, either you fight or either you do dialogue. Since Constitutional boss of army has given mandate army achieve peace without specifying how, army would use every possible way at it's disposal , of course, as it's a duty of Army to carry out their Boss order which were conveyed to them through their boss's close confidants, CM Punjab and Federal Interior minister

Any proof army meddling in politics as of right now? Throwing generalizations, assumptions, hearsays and I said so statements doesn't cut it during arguments. It's just like IK throwing wild accusations
