Not looking very good for India as apart from the hull, pretty much everything else will be imported.

Probably, DRDO does have AESA radar for both land based and airborne platforms, but maybe that's not miniaturized enough to fit in a stealth frigate. A decade time seems to be well enough for further research and development in critical technologies field.

Even though, UK still using US Aegis AESA radar onboard their stealth frigates and destroyers.

Hope it is the Indian one. The pace at which AESA for embraer was done I think we can definitely build one for ship. Lots is happening in radar front with Astra microwave and data patterns taking up most of the research along with CABS, LRDE, DRDL etc. Thanks to DPP for LRTR, now Indian companies are making AESA and miniaturizing them.

3D CAR, Rohini, MPR all are going to be AESA soon with lots of jamming and anti jamming stuff.

although DRDO is doing good job in radar section but most possibly project 17a will have Aegis system.

As Lockheed Martin and Hyundai Heavy Industries have jointly responded to the Project 17A combat systems Request for Information (RFI) issued by Indian Navy. They are offering the Aegis Combat System to be included in its Project 17A frigate proposal.

Indigenous or heterogeneous, does not matter how the ship is made, the final thing is what matters, Indian Navy is called blue water navy b'coz of AC's it have, it does not matter if one was bought from Britain & another from Russia, it can inflict the damage either way. And pls answer one question if u say we bought steel from Russia (though false since now India makes it's own steel for warships) does that mean the ship is not indigenous?? by this logic no ship in the world is 100% indigenous.

Why should the steel come from Russia? India has had ship-building plate for more than thirty years now. I know, I used to track that among other categories in 1980.

Do u think that India who is producing high grade steel for its 44,000 tonnes Aircraft Carrier would need to import steel for 7,000 tonnes frigate...

Steel for your Kolkata calss destroyer and Aircraft carriers came from russia. Indian steel makers
are unable to make such steels. All your electronic systems on board are foreign. There is no
shame in admitting it though India will be the only country trying to gain a blue water capability
with foreign tech
