Nato forces kill 30 ( in ) Pakistan

Not sure how true this report it, but Daily Times is reporting there may have been another NATO strike.

Another NATO airstrike in Pakistan, five killed

HANGU/BRUSSELS: At least five people were killed and nine others injured when NATO helicopters once again crossed Pakistani borders and pounded Kurram Agency, political administration and security sources said.

Security sources told Daily Times that two NATO helicopters violated the Pakistani border and shelled the Mata Sangar area of Kurram Agency at 5am. The political administration confirmed the killing of the five people from Maqbal tribe.

Locals said that NATO choppers entered up to three kilometres in Pakistani territory and attacked the area. The Maqbal tribe strongly protested the incident and demanded the federal government take the matter with NATO forces immediately.

An Afghan police commander reportedly confirmed that NATO helicopters had trespassed the border and attacked in the Kurram Agency area.

Meanwhile, in response to Pakistan’s protest over the airstrikes, a NATO official said NATO’s troops operating in Afghanistan have a right to self-defence. “ISAF forces must and will retain the authority, within their mandate, to defend themselves in carrying out their mission,” he said.

if a criminal escapes from the american border to the mexico, the americans cant dare to enter the mexican border to chase the criminals, and its because of the country's law and border soverignty, they dont have jurisdication there, but because pakistan has a weak govt, they can justify their bad actions any day, as soon as pak army begins their self defence, even if their troops get killed these natos will not find a single reason to defend their actions later

Killed insurgents...:tup::tup:
Killed Civilians......:tdown::tdown:

You cannot stand over the stats given away by NATO,they might also have killed some innocents,but its human nature,not to mention your mistakes.

Totally un-acceptable, counter-attacks should be launched. One day's air raids from PAF can destroy all the 10 years long infrastructure Nato has built in Afghanistan.

The US has developed a habit of killing Pakistanis it deems as insurgents and attacking them without Pakistani approval. Counter measures should be taken immediately.

The above statement is good for chest thumping and bravado but is not practical and the Pak govt / army has no chance of doing it, any attack on nato forces by pak will lead to serious repurcussions for pakistan.

All these raids by Nato forces are happening with tacit approval of pak army / govt. so dont any else but some hollow statements for public consumption.

Attack on Pakistan soil is a serious matter, we'd be just doing the least thing we can do - self defence. We have already cooperated with the US on the destruction of terrorist camps, allowed drone attacks when it is done in cooperation with Pakistan and there is no issue if that goes on.

But apparently here, Pakistan's approval was not there.

I talked to the personnel in the area their comments are quite sensible. according to them it was not allowed by army but they are still observing restrain despite US is trying to provoke both Pakistan and the fighters which is going to lead to a mess.

Let me tell you what will happen - Pakistan will lodge a strong protest. NATO will regret the loss of life but appreciate Pakistan's help in WoT. Pakistan media will move on to other piece of news.

Just curious.. From a challenge to sovreignity perspective, how is a drone attack different from a chopper attack?? Please note that like this attack, for a very long time GoP maintained that drone attacks were happening without Pakistan's involvement and approval

Drone attacks are needed in regions where sovereignty has already been lost to Taliban and its just more practical to use drone strikes.

If we allow the US to manned missions in Pakistan, it will sooner or later move towards invading Pakistani territory hence it should be opposed at the highest level even an inch can't be given to Americans if they come for it, give them a bloody nose.

Unfortunately, true. But that's more because of Pakistan's Eunuch government than Pakistani media or its people moving on.

But wasnt this chopper attack also in the same area where sovereignty has already been lost to Taliban ?? How does it matter that the attacking craft is remote controlled or has a crew

Difference is that was it coordinated with the Pakistanis? Were they asked "Dude, I'm attacking this place, all cool?"

If they weren't asked, then Pakistan was attacked by the US and Pakistan must fight back to prevent further slaughter of Pakistanis.

True but Pakistani media is already not playing it much.

They should. If they want to influence their government into action.

Dont get me wrong, but I dont think there will be any sort of military response from Pakistan. As long as the WoT is on in Pak's neighborhood and NATO's objectives aren't met, these sort of incidents will happen.

Yeah, there may not be any military response, but as previously stated, it will bring bad relations among the both sides and things will take turn for the down turn. This was what we saw during previous times also, and the affects lingered on for quiet some time.

Such actions, bring in resentment among the military cadre, especially the officers, junior and senior both. And these are the ones who will be as leaders tomorrow, thus their thinking would be different about NATO / US.

The reaction taken by Pakistan can already be sensed by the change in statement / stand of NATO.

Even last time, orders to formations on the border was given to fire at will at any intruding aircraft, and i do remember PA having deployed some MANPADS in those areas to check any incursion again.
