Nice view of dam there ....Nobody knows its stands atop how many hamlets of poor and how many cemeteries of poor ( actually that's wrong phrase ...poor have no luxury of cemeteries ...they disappear without leaving trace ...and often big majestic places are built over vestiges of their wretched existence ) who were displaced ...

Environmental and Social Impact on any major project is an international requirement. Calling her a b!tch doesn't do her any justice. It is all well and good that the Modi government is taking a robust approach to these projects. It is however necessary that they comply or take heed of the assessments and address those. That is all she is saying

Elected politicians represents whole India including yours also (if voted).Their minds and actions will similar to us or in otherwords they are from us.
Medha Patkar can raise slogan.But she must also propose an alternative for developement.And common people must also take their environment.Just check the case of Ganga .Instructions ,laws and rules is also there to protect that river.But it is the people duty to obey that rules .Not government .In the name of religious freedom tons of waste are dumped in the Ganga what about that.?
And these Medha Patkar and like minded activitists dont do any thing for aware the people around that are because they are underdeveloped .And you now the reasons for that.

we have killed our natural resources ... our rhino's tigers are on the verge of extinction ... why don't our politicians care about them ?

These people who are to be relocated ... where ?? how much compensation ?? nothing is transparent ... what step will the govt take to correct the environmental damage ?? They should give a plan to correct the environmental damage too ... if the govt will be ignorant what will you expect the private developers to do ?

We sir being in construction business ... we are forced by the govt and people to give adequate compensation is redevelopment projects at prevailing market rates or exceeding them so that these family can live comfortably (in Maharashtra at-least) .. what Amma is doing is sad, she can be drawn to the courst for it, sadly she has absolute power which no one questions. Haryana has one of the best compensation policy, sadly thats a state affair, states like gujrat, maharashtra, madhya-pradesh, odissa ,chhattisgarh. Narmada controversy arose because of unfair compensation ... these villagers were only compensated for 1 crop cycle .. not for their house , farms etc that would have helped them relocate.
The best thing would be ... given them houses .. farm and little money so that they can carry on with their lives

GoI knows it more than you and me.So they will initiate economic reforms and in for a short term it will move with an emergency .Any NGOs stand against it will find their place in jail.Youths also ensured a clear mandate for that.

But policy makers knows more than a person working in civil development projects .they create our future.
Unfortunately we dont have any other choice.
13 million youths adding in to the job market every year and it is going to increase in coming years.GoI dont have any other choice,
