Bhai, India needed a media victory, China needed a strategic victory. I see no conflict in this, google doklam and 99% are Indian news claiming victory. We must ensure Modi saves faces after what he just did. . Essentially, China got permanent troop deployment and in return India get a road postponement, most likely after winter and his visit to China. Good deal to me. Previously we only patrol, now we are face to face with Indian troops in Doka La, essentially de facto annexation of Doklam.

It isn't my party. I am a libertarian. IMHO, the weakness of Chinese ruling party is the schizophrenia caused by partially adopted liberal free market policy in practice and entrenched communism in theory. A lot of mental gymnastics employed to make market economy palatable for communists. As a result, they react slowly to sudden challenges. They can still react and react strongly after they have done the gymnastics and devised a plan to counter measure. It just doesn't work well with Modi style of guerrilla tactics.
