Once Thailand and USA were the threats of Burma however they get close relation with Burma for now.
Today BD became the Threats of burma , especially their over population bomb make the Burma to be angry .

Historically, Myanmar have serious conflict with Thailand. They tried to conqure Thailand in 18th century but failed. And now it seems they have conflict with BD.

in 2001 they had several border skirmish against Thailand armed forces

We had conflict with BD and we have many assets in sea such as offshore oil fields and fisheries. You must understand that we have 100,000 plus rebels under various names.
Security and economy, is both equally important for us.

I recommend Chinese ships, we are offering very capable ships at low prices.

The two we sold to Nigeria I think is 20-30 million a pop, this config in Western world may cost 100 million+. It may offer more weapons, but we are open to that, and the Type 56 is highly configurable, whatever you want we can add. We can even add vertical launch missiles, but you amust pay for that.

Even then it's way cheaper. Our quality is very good. Type 56 is ranksed 9th by American magazine, but type 56 is a watered down ship we built for patrol, and we just made it with the bare minimum for fast build time, 20 in 2-3 years, and very low cost, compare to actual combat ships the West built. The Nigerian version is better, it's bigger for one and has a hanger for helicopter.

Type 54A is a modern vessel, 4000+ tons or 4500, forgot, having one of that would make Myanmar the most powerful naval nation in South China, probably, at least second. Not sure Indonesia naval power. But they shouldn't have something of Type 54A caliber, but maybe they do.

Myanmar can be like that, China can offer the Type 52D at some point when Myanmar's navy is mature enough or calls for it, and you can just build according to your specifications. We'll sell some advanced parts and software, but most would be built in Myanmar.

But let me say this if you can build type 54A, even reversed engineered version, by 2020 on your own that would mean best ship building industry in South Asia, about more or less to India, their stuff is so foreign it's ridicules.

We always think highly of PLAN and its shipbuilding capacity. If this momentum continue on, PLAN will be able to dominate both Indian and Pacific oceans in near future.
Indian Navy also an impressive one. But their shipbuilding momentum is little behind PLAN.
Peaceful cooperations between PLAN and IN will be good counter to US Navy.
Anyway both country help our Navy alots. Our MN is just in the beginning of the modernization program and it will take long time to reach our goal. Our goal is just to replace the ships which are older than 25 years with new modern ships. Our country is not a developed country and we can't afford expensive warships. So we have to choose affordable plan.

Myanmar may have become the first foreign nation to import the C-602 anti-ship missile from China according to Kanwa Defense Review, a magazine published by Andrei Pinkov, a military analyst from Canada.

The PLA Navy is currently the only operator of the YJ-602 anti-ship missile designed by the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation based in Beijing. However, a source from the Chinese defense industry told Kanwa Defense Review that the C-602, the export version of the missile, had recently been sold to an unknown nation, which is very likely to be Myanmar.

If this report is true, the article said Myanmar's navy will have the best anti-ship missile of any country in Southeast Asia. Myanmar currently deploys two other types of anti-ship missile from China, the C-802 and C-802A, it said. Reports in Russian media meanwhile state that the anti-ship missiles on board two of Myanmar's most advanced frigates, the F11 and F12, are the Russian-built Kh35 with a range of 130 kilometers, but Kanwa Defense Review said they are more likely to be C-602 missiles judging from their size.

Since the two Myanmar frigates each have a displacement of over 3,000 tonnes, the article said the missile launchers on these two vessels should be able to carry eight Kh35 missiles. However, a photo shows only four missiles in the launchers, suggesting they are likely to be the 6.1-meter-long C-602 rather than the 3.85-meter-long Kh35. Kanwa Defense Review said even larger PLA ships like the Type 052C guided missile destroyer with its displacement of 7,000 tonnes is able to carry only eight YJ-602 missiles.

Kanwa also said Myanmar is constructing a stealth missile boat with the hull number 491 which looks very similar to the 500-tonne fast attack craft the PLA Navy turned over to Pakistan last year. The new stealth missile boat will likely carry the C-802 or C-802A like its counterpart in Pakistan, the article said. This demonstrates that China still has strong influence over Myanmar despite the end of the nation's military regime. Islamabad is also negotiating with Beijing to purchase the C-602 missile, according to Kanwa.

Isn't the F12 (Kyansittha?) just a regular Aung Zeyar with stealthy bits stuck to it?

The F14 UMS Hsinphyushin looks like it was designed with stealth from the ground up. She's a real beauty.

I hope in the future we can sell them competitively on the international market. We would have to undercut the Chinese on price, though. Maybe we can even transfer the technology into the civilian sector and start a competitive ship building industry.
