But let me say this if you can build type 54A, even reversed engineered version, by 2020 on your own that would mean best ship building industry in South Asia, about more or less to India, their stuff is so foreign it's ridicules.

Lastly, what do Myanmar need these ships for lol, we are going against America, Myanmar now can take any nation in ASEAN at sea more or less.

Its too much brother, far exceeds the sale pitch....:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Though peninsula and islands ASEAN countries is pretty weak in Ground forces, but almost all of them had a decent Navy with a good platform. As an example Malaysia Navy they operating more than eight missile Frigate and corvette plus planning to adding the number with six Gowind class frigate. Singapore Navy operating Six Formidable class Frigate and expanding themselves with more than eight corvettes. And all of them operating Submarine forces

Why the military build up of Myanmar since they don;t have many serious conflicts.Wouldn't it be better to keep a small defending force and focus on economy first?
It has nearly 20 ethnic armed groups and half are still fighting today but the country is on the way to federalism and before that we need a larger army. And Wa (ethnically Chinese) army of 20000 standing personnel and 15000 militias supported by China is there on the Shan State.

Navy building? Of course, we need to defense 1300 long costal and maritime interests.
That's why. If we have a politically, strong deplomatic gov with a Noble icon (Daw Aung San Suu Kyi), we could go building economy first! Sadly, Current gov isn't strong enough. All we need is to protect the country while building economy. :-)
