The officers of the Myanmar Air Force confirmed that the purchase of a JF-17 «Thunder» fighter jets was approved. They said the order was part of a deal signed by China, Pakistan , and Myanmar.

Earlier it was reported that Myanmar Air Force will seek to purchase 16 JF-17 Thunder multi-role plane. The JF-17 could be positioned as a viable replacement for Myanmar’s MiG-29, J-7M or Q-5 ground-attack aircraft.

The Joint Fighter-17 (JF-17) Thunder (also named FC-1 Xiaolong ) multi-role fighter was jointly developed by Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) of China and is jointly manufactured by Pakistan and China.

The JF-17 / FC-1 is armed with GSh-23 dual-barrel 23mm cannon or GSh-30 dual-30mm cannon. The aircraft has seven hardpoints of which four are located under the wings, one under the fuselage and two mounted on the wingtips. It can carry up to 3,700kg payload

This was reported by East Pendulum (French)

Myanmar placed an order in 2015 for 16 JF-17 Thunder jets, each worth $35 million. Myanmar was the first country to order the jets from Pakistan

. .
It will be easier to view the role of JF-17 in Myanmmar AF through the weapons ordered. The army probably uses MBT-2000 already.

$560 Million for 16 Aircraft :yahoo::yahoo::bunny::bunny:

Congrats,
But how much percentage of money will Pakistan get from this sale, I think Chengdu Aircraft Corporation will get all the money and Pakistan will get some amount for their labour work in assembling the JF-17 because every right is owned by CAC.

Myanmar rohingya muslims are being persecuted by majority Buddhist population and you guys are arming them, have Pakistan changed its ideology does business have now more priority than Islam?

58%-60%.. Pakistan owns 58% rights and rest is owned by CAC..

Its a good start to be honest. The air craft market is perhaps the most contested market in the world with strings attached that have little to do with the aircrafts capabilities. To penetrate such a market in a short while is a good achievement. Focus should be on other African countries as well or any nation that can be a customer and has the cash to pay for the planes.
