I got her for less than 300. And yes, I need to get a Mosin...! I've a buddy who has one...its a beauty. I'll have to get it for a Christmas present for myself..lol

I've been thinking about one, too. They're dirt cheap. I've had my eye on a Rock Island Armory 1911. I think that'll be my next handgun. In 9 MM so I don't have to stock a ton of different calibers.

I tell you what, if you want to try shooting together , i usually go to the Piney Hollow gun range in Gloucester County, NJ.

There's a lot of WWII re-enactors and military enthusiasts there. Good guys. I usually go the range on weekends, i might see you there sometime? eh?

Btw, Mosin are good. Its loud as a MF, but nice.

Being in Pa., I can buy online. I've found that even with shipping it's cheaper. Lately I've been buying from Freedom Munitions. They run a 'free shipping' weekend about once a month. And Target Sports USA always gives free shipping when you buy bulk (1000 rounds).

This week I just purchased my Yugoslav SKS (66). Will be posting more pictures of it this week.

Congrats on your new rifle. I absolutely love the SKS, I had a bought one couple of years ago, now it is with my father in law. It's a great range gun too.
there are a lot of after market stuff, but i had refinished my stock and it looked absolutely stunning. It might be a good project if you are interested in DIY stuff.

7.62 is relatively cheap. And an SKS should be able to handle the cheaper Russian steel cased ammo like Wolf and Tulammo no sweat. You can get that stuff in bulk (1000 rds.) for pretty cheap. I tried Tulammo in my AR and it didn't like it.

No, I don't own one but I've shot them. I own an AR. I live outside of Philly in Bucks County. Are you sure the SKS is legal in Jersey ? I had to modify my AR so that I could shoot at the range in Ft. Dix. And don't call me 'sir'.

dude how would u rate AR vis a vis an AKM. I was planning on getting an AR but unfortunately have to move to NYC. F..king hate NY gun laws.
