What's new

My boyfriend told me he comes from a small town in China, so I went there and..

Well what are you doing with all the 1000’s of villages in the countryside which have lost population to the cities? Are you going to kick the remaining out and tear all the buildings down?

We have the same problem but in the opposite direction.
Reverse urbanization, huh, US is one of a kind, but do you know the city infras like New York subway will only decay more and nothing will be done about them?

So will your old villages…however I doubt there is an uproar in China about that. But somehow you think there should be an uproar in the US about old cities.

Actually China builds lots of new villages all across the country, as numerous as you can ever imagine, besides, abandon a village is different from deserting a city, are you really ready to give up New York?

The population of the US has doubled since suburbanization started in the 1950’s. You’d think a lot of those people are in major US cities and thus at least doubling their size…but the cities havent.

The “villages” are the ones that expanded and modernized since the 1950’s not the cities. But no matter how hard I try and explain that you just keep going back to talking about cities. City city city city city city city city city city.

The US is not China. We are not focused on living in dense cities like you guys are. Almost all construction since 1950s are in the “villages”.

If you can understand how living in an apartment surrounded by a wall with barbed wire is a cultural thing in China and it is something Americans wouldn’t understand how come you can’t understand that living in villages is a cultural thing Americans like that the Chinese can’t understand?????

We have no need to live in dense cities anymore…but because of China’s land and population issues…you do have that need…in fact it is pretty much a requirement (just like it was for us back in 1900 due to food issues before refrigeration).

So US cities are becoming ghost towns? it's what US always depicts Chinese cities are like in their news.

So you got the answer
You're posting propaganda articles every day, while you rarely take part in other discussions. The only logical explanation,is that you're here to promote China through the Party's eyes. And you might also be getting a few Yuan for that. Even if you're not,you have to understand and realize,it's ridiculous.
