Mustafa Jabbar: Bangladesh will lead the 4th industrial revolution

You fail to remember, that neither India nor Pakistan designed or manufactured ANY significant pieces of Machinery before WWII.

Nothing.

Maybe you are too young and in that case, ask your parents/grandparents. They haven't forgotten.

Why bring India/Pakistan unnecessarily into the discussion? just because they could not do something after xyz years doesn't mean we have to use that as an excuse for our shortcomings.

I personally think C should only be taught to students who may have a use for it. Sometimes it is tough for some students to make the transition from C to OOP. My suggestions would be go straight to Java or Python. It is much easier to learn the Grammar of OOP Syntax.

ditto.

.
Why me, an uneducated street guy? Please ask that intellectual Pundit Jabbar or what to learn more about the 1st industrial revolution before he talks even the 2nd one. This guy is asking us to do Ph.D. when we are yet to enter the Primary 1st grade.

Bangladesh suffers from intellectual hollowness. Is it because of too much of beef consumption that people are not meritorious or is it because of ignorant peasant ancestry that some people talk of the 4th industrial revolution which can be pursued only by the countries with a strong background of most developed status?

Historically, Hindus are a way more meritorious than the Muslims in the entire Bengal. This is why they are coming up and they should do so because only they can lead the country with their non-meat intelligence.
Because nobody except you has the keen interest in steam engine.

I dont know if any programming language has any use for anybody unless he/her pursue a study in computer science.. Basic computing and few html based design should suffice in HSC level.

@Bilal9 is always after giving lame excuses. It is very simple thing that neither Pakistan or India is our responsibility. It is OK if they did or did not manufacture anything. But, are they talking big about 4th industrial revolution like BD guys do time to time.

Those two countries have graduated from the 1st industrial revolution and are going through the 2nd one. On the other hand, BD people have so far failed even to produce a tiny machine when the technology is widely available, but here people like @bilal are talking of 4th revolution. This is why Bangladesh has become a target of the joke for others. Some people here love to remain shameless.

ICT minister acknowledges that Bangladesh missed 1st, 2nd and 3rd industrial revolution. 4th industrial revolution is all about big data, data science, iot and ai. To accomplish this you don’t need to build steam engine. With solid knowledge and understanding on math, stat, programming and networking you can accomplish it. Bangladesh has the potential to achieve this.

non-meat intelligence.
I am wondering if you're being sarcastic

ICT minister acknowledges that Bangladesh missed 1st, 2nd and 3rd industrial revolution. 4th industrial revolution is all about big data, data science, iot and ai. To accomplish this you don’t need to build steam engine. With solid knowledge and understanding on math, stat, programming and networking you can accomplish it. Bangladesh has the potential to achieve this.
for that you need effective teachers, restructing of an efficient education system and interested children

And biggest hurdle for 1/2nd and 3rd industrial revolution was the primary capital. BD never had that kind of money to push it through. The great thing about 4th industrial revolution are that they are less capital intensive and rather more in knowledge based. The reason 3rd world countries are seeing rapid growth.

.
Because nobody except you has the keen interest in steam engine.
Talk rationally. BD people are not able to build steam or any engine. Who stops you from manufacturing a non-steam one like diesel, diesel/electric or electric engine. Or, how about a HYBRID engine who is stopping you? Do it and prove you can do it before you guys send rockets to space and suddenly start a 4th industrial revolution.

Now the new BD ministers are supplementing the Haseena Chapabazi by inventing their own prophecies. In fact, they are competing with each other to get Haseena attention.

.
4th industrial Revolution doesnt give you much necessary jobs for tens millions of worker, as they are very capital intensive and most being very automated and computerized. You can see there is not much jobs available for apps operator and data center. You still need heavy industry to propelled your economy growth further.

.
4IR (AI/bots, training machines with data, biotech, robotices, IoT, blockchins/Smart contracts, bigdata/better prediction, augmented reality/feeding info-data) is more about interaction between human and machine or advanced digitization, time efficiency and cost minimisation in service and production, not the production itself.

So you will need different industry bases first to apply or overlay it to make the production more automated, optimized, scaled and efficient.

To me, 4.0 is like how mobile, internet and google have changed our lives. We can replicate, use and adopt 4.0 techs, but hardly can make these more advanced. No wonder, today more people have access to mobile than basic sanitation!

4IR will ease our lives and enhance the living standards, but not increase our export to developed countries (some outsourcing may be). Because, the developed countries will already have these.

So the minister should have said we will follow the 4IR, not lead. It is provokes chuckling! Typical BALs, and their manipulation of catchy words. However, it is true that BAL can give more favorable environment for 4.0 adoption.

Why bring India/Pakistan unnecessarily into the discussion? just because they could not do something after xyz years doesn't mean we have to use that as an excuse for our shortcomings.

The reason is that Bangladesh is not outside of the general standard that India sets regarding industrialization - at least not yet. There are too many similarities in societal attitudes as well as industrial initiatives. Too many interconnections trade-wise....

Bangladesh DOESN'T have Industrial shortcomings, you are buying and swallowing Indian troll propaganda lock, stock and barrel. Don't be a part of foisting misinformation just because Indian trolls say it.

Indian trolls who claim Bangladesh is undeveloped because we don't make cars, trucks and industrial machinery are banking on the ignorance of Bangladeshi PDF posters. Things are not made on patriotic whims, they are made (and factories are set up to make them) because it makes business (and financial) sense and promoters can make solid profits.

As a larger population country (by a factor of eight) India can initiate large-scale industrial projects (like lathe machines, automobile manufacture or rail loco manufacture) which would simply never make sense for us to make locally for our small market (especially since we do not serve an export market). This simple fact is lost on Bangladeshis because they don't understand it. There is meagre demand compared to the sunk investment needed.

Hence Indian Sanghi trolls and Bangladeshi false-flaggers (probably Indian Sanghis again) are harping on this fact constantly about how undeveloped Bangladesh is.

No Bangladeshi I know personally is a Sanghi or lover of Bajrang Dal. If you see that attitude and they are dumping on Bangladesh in terms of industrialization constantly, they have been marked. Bangladeshis will not dump on their own country in constant fashion, they know what is going on locally and understand.

On top of this - some of these false-flaggers can't even respond in Bangla, which I have already proven and reported to the mods. I KNOW who these false-flaggers are in PDF, They think they are too smart but their velkibaji is nothing to me.

Back to the topic - a heck of a lot of things made in India are simply for local market consumption at the least investment. That is the general consensus by Indian industrialists and that is what they aim for. India has very few (probably none) facilities to make cellphone motherboards from scratch. They import it from China. Indian industrialists are simply trying to make the most profit by catering to a humongous market at the cheapest possible cost (investment). Make them by the millions by screwdriver assembly at the least possible sunk investment.

Sanghi propaganda and chaiwala proclamations (e.g. 'Make in India') to appeal to Indian patriotism to the contrary, Indians are not looking toward becoming a huge export powerhouse like China anytime soon (other than backoffice exports which requires little infra, if you don't count datacenters and IT infra).

Indians know they can't match China in the global market regarding industrial efficiency, logistics and cost, they KNOW they'd lose.

Infra is being built in India however, in slow fashion. The propaganda for this however exceeds what is actually happening in reality.

Agreed.

When IT infra is as cheap and as readily available (and the amount of excess bandwidth we already have), the potential to build an army of folks with intellectual IT capital is not impossible to achieve. I have seen the level of talent in local Bangladeshis regarding IT. I have no doubts that with proper investments, training, they can become assets way better than any neighboring country.

On top of this Bangladeshi IT resource costs are half (HALF!) that of India's. Even with the amount of IT talent they graduate or train every year, the resource crisis is dire and Indian IT salaries are going through the roof... it is not a recruiter's market any longer and job-hopping is severe and widespread.

I see this as a huge differentiation factor for global IT competitiveness for Bangladesh - untapped potential.

We should also concentrate on non-traditional IT industries India has not concentrated yet. Such as animation, CGI, phone apps (especially in Asian languages such as Chinese and Japanese which are huge markets).

Bangladesh' CGI animation industry (IMHO) is already way better and cheaper than surrounding countries.

Lot of people have interest in steam. It is a prime mover still. Does BD ever want to approach designing and making steam turbines for example? @bluesky

Coming from the guy saying BD can so easily join the 4th industrial revolution lol.

You understand that programming language teaches you things far beyond the language itself?...like breaking up a larger process into logic flow and algorithm based process. This will be increasingly important to almost any job given automation taking up the more mundane tasks.

But of course its all just simple HTML and "basic computing" that will be enough for "knowledge revolution" in Bangladesh....that too with 0 capacity buffer earned from the previous 3 revolutions to re-invest.

Trust me, I know exactly what you feel when you see what BD "performance" is in IT compared to India...and that deep down you know that massive disparity will stay that way (India will leave next to nothing for you lot to have given our proven capacity, got it?).

You people drove away your smart people to India long time back and you are now stuck in a crap basket...and it is so obvious as to why with even Biman Babu sorts like you preaching what is "enough" for BD riffraff to have in this day and age. You are all a lost cause, it will be funny to see you lot keep doing so badly in the time mother nature has allotted you to be above water.

Why bring India/Pakistan unnecessarily into the discussion? just because they could not do something after xyz years doesn't mean we have to use that as an excuse for our shortcomings.

Why does that butthurt billu type anything here to begin with (when he isnt posting city vegetable growing and high market chai cafes in Dhaka) after getting smacked on it repeatedly...and whinges and cries in the end? He has major chip on shoulder...augmented by his loser projection salivating that Walton will export 1 billion worth this year ...suddenly and quite rudely pushed back by 10 years

You don't even want to know what he feels when I shoved such videos into his pathetic bhadrolok/chotolok (to quote @bluesky ....who billu in his infinite intelligence and wisdom said is just an account of mine lol...and even devised a super smart Bengali test for him to prove otherwise ) complex face...so much that he pretends to ignore what I write now. You can judge his blood pressure from his above post haha...so imagine what one video like this did to it..given he knows BD will never ever export an iota of this kind of thing to the country his lot all so aspire to be:

A puny guy with a puny brain...thats twinky crybaby billu for you!

Him: :close_tema:+ :cray:

Me: :pop:+

How long you will keep your mind filthy with hates for others? you are already an adult not to pull others' leg. Stop bickering like an idiot and read the news below about Indian railway manufacturing advances when you are worried about dirtying your two black hands by trying to build a steam engine. Why BD people cannot even do it and brag about so many things? Are not you guys ashamed, bloody mental pigmy nation?

Indian Railways may ride Train 18 to $200b market

Indian Railways (IR) is planning an entry into the $200 billion global market for coaches and wagons (rolling stock) after producing Train 18, an Indian semi-high speed train.

The IR fixed the target even as the government is yet to give a go ahead for its debut commercial operation between Delhi and Varanasi, reports TOI.

Rajesh Agrawal, member rolling stock of the railway board, said countries from the middle-east, North and South America, south-east Asia and even east Europe have shown interest in the Train 18.

Sources said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also asked the railways to make a presentation on the indigenously built train when heads of all Indian missions meet there so that they become a part of the exercise to popularise the train in countries where they are posted as a part of an economic diplomacy push.

"We believe there is great potential in the semi-high speed category, that is between 150-250 kmph. We are ready to offer this to markets where HSR may be too expensive but this would be a viable alternative. The cost of these trains would be at least 25 per cent less than what other countries spend for manufacturing on their land. We want to enter the global rolling stock market," Agrawal told TOI.

The government also has ambitious plans for the train. The Singapore-KL project was first scrapped by Malaysian PM Mahathir Mohammed in 2018.

Later it was deferred to a 2031 roll out, with a commitment to lowering the price of the project.

Companies from China, Japan, South Korea and Europe are believed to have expressed interest in the project. India wants to add its name to this list - railway authorities believe that the project would be financially viable with a semi-high speed train.

Train 18 can run at a speed of 180 kmph.

Even if BD does not need trains/logistics transport to the degree India does (given the land sizes)...surely BD needs steam turbines (and would benefit forex+jobs+tech capacity wise from doing some of that locally)...especially since there is some huge plan to create Russian loan-based nuclear power infra in the country? Not to mention conventional thermal power plant expansion?

BTW, you are just going to make topcat, homo, billu, blackcat and a cpl others very angry by your posts of this nature :P ...but its great you don't care haha. Just want to get to the root of the matter and the truth....much respect to you in the end.

Nah in Bangladesh as far I know, all steam engines are replaced by diesel engine .
Just few old cargo ships still exists that operate by steam engine, and we call them steamer and they look horrific lol .

We should first focus building train car and such thing that peoples use so we can decrease import.

Here is one piece steamer . Search "steamer Bangladesh" for more pictures.

But, it is not possible for you or me to make @TopCat, or your favorite Billu Miah to understand the meaning of starting from Zero. Any country has only a single path to move forward. It is to start from the bottom of technology.
But, the Billu Miah like people thinks BD is already this and that and therefore it is below its esteem to start from the bottom. The country is infested with this kind of people with superficial knowledge. Since BD is unable to start from Zero it will not achieve the goal of reaching even Ten, let alone 4th industrial Bakwas.

Stupid @TopCat
