Pakistani brothers. This is not a surprise. Muslims are being targeted and discriminated by non Muslims in India. Muslims need to work twice as hard as a Hindu in order to get anywhere.

So tell me how the evil Hindoos are targetting and discriminating against them within Pakistan for Pakistan to have such a low literacy rate and education standing?

Muslims in India not only lacking in education but also behind social and economic platforms because they have very less opportunities in India to get Jobs and this is a chain reaction no jobs no money which means very little resources for them to educate their children and those who educate their kids disappointed because educated Muslims gets only few jobs as compared to other religious groups.

oh, i just merely stated most of them came from Subcontinent

in which, from the starts they had lower HDI compared to other immigrants, noting that Muslim Levant migrants in USA had a far better experiences

But here we are making comparison between Indian non-Muslims and Indian Muslims, so an equivalent comparison would be between Indian non-Muslims abroad and Indian Muslims abroad. If this trend in India holds elsewhere too, them we could conclude that responsibility of low education rate of Muslims lie with Muslims themselves.

Madrasa are not the problem. Only 4% of Muslim sre educated bu Madrasa board. The problem with Muslims is that they do not send their children to any kind of school at all. They prefer them to be ragpickers and bring some moolah home for daddy.

Thankfully thats a declining number of their community. Fertility rates and population growth of muslims in India is dropping quite rapidly now and should meet majority levels by around 2030.

the neglects of Muslim in India about education maybe can came from two things, first lacks of comprehensive education and knowledge among them about the important of regular education for their Childrens and future, and two about institutional neglects.

but as a whole Indian ranks in Human Developing Index is so awful, far below most Muslim Countries in known world, being neighbor with Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan made Indian member here thinking poorly about their Muslim neighbor. But rest of Muslim world is filled with a more developed and richer Countries than what Indian here tought.

Call it rich, but not with evolved thoughts. Indian Muslims are enjoing greater religious freedom even some aspects are banned in Muslim countries. One of the most demeaning facts is, Subcontinent Muslims marry off their girls after primary education. They dont allow their girls to study.
Second I have seen most of the muslims try to get into business from an young age. Any walk into a large market street in India and u will know what i speak of.
Hindus had many reformers, and the major difference is people listened to them. Muslims quote Quran, Quran and get backwards. Their mentality and attitude should change. An government cannot storm their home to force a kid to study.

Illiterate yes, they don't believe much in formal education system. But unemployed? I highly doubt. Go anywhere in India, majority of low skilled and unskilled jobs, majority of standalone businesses like hair dressing, ironing clothes, auto mechanics are done by muslims. Western UP might be very low in literacy rate but muslims there are land lords, big businesses, real estate to local shops, everywhere they are prominent and affluent. They just dont study and dont disclose their income.

I think what @madokafc is saying is we cannot extend the South Asian muslim phenomenon/characteristics broadly to other parts of the world with Muslim populations.

There are particular challenges and successes that vary from place to place....sometimes its little to do with the religion directly itself.

The issues I observed in the majority.

1. They don't send their women to work, so effectively - 50% of their work force is without an income.
This results in one person's income feeding 7-8 mouths or more. There's a shortage of everything

2. They send their kids to work to support the number of mouths - as young as 6-7 years are pushed into menial jobs. Education is not the focus. They go by the theory "Allah paida kiya, Allah dega".

3. Most don't send their girl child to school - put them under a veil by the time they are 8-9 years....effectively resulting in no education and no world knowledge. These girls do not interact with anyone besides their own people resulting lack of any vocational skills. There goes the future generation of 50% Muslim.

4. Many send their boys to madrassahs which are of no value, other then if you want to work in a mosque, these madrassah educated folks send their kids to madrassahs.

5. The girls are married off by the time they hit puberty, resulting in bad parenting and bad gene pool and a underdeveloped family atmosphere.

The day when Muslims let go of controlling their women and girls will be the day they will develop.

Its a social problem even after free education they prefer to keep their children uneducated,in madrassa,in menial jobs,keeping girls in burqa since age 6 and marry them off at 15, its upto them,no one can force education on someone.
